  1. The boy was holding out on me. I ask his opinion about another marble online I was getting ready to pull the trigger on and he said, “I got one of those, that’s Akro colors.”🤨 Smart, Al-eck. LOL. Pretty close wouldn’t you say. Now I owe him for a cork screw.
  2. Me and the son and the granddaughter went looking for treasure today. Couldn’t find a marble to save my life, my son founds some cool coins and the granddaughter got some toys she couldn’t live without. She told me so. When we got home I headed to the country to an old dump site to see if I could scratch something out of the ground. I wasn’t there long and I rolled this old double cola out. When I was growing up this was popular around here.
  3. I should have know better than to trust the identification of an auction site. I guess I’m going in a different direction. The hunt is on.
  4. Fire1981, If you go to Grandpasmarbles.com and look at the Akro page you'll find some marbles the are identical in color to yours. He also adds helpful note and describes what makes the marble desirable.
  5. treetiger, you added a very important clue. I wished I have read the post all the way through. An unlabeled cloth bag that resembles a knock off coach. That was probably the bag it was put in by the maker. Just speculation, but has to be added to the investigation. Elementary my dear Watson, elementary. I love this stuff. LOL Very nice marble.
  6. Marble Alan's page has one that's very similar. He calls it a Brushed patch transparent.
  7. Mmmm , I'm goin say Vitro. The cut line, V-pattern and color got me leaning that way. just my opinion.
  8. I don’t think I’m experienced enough to answer that question competently. I will continue to research though. I like Popeyes and I want to try to get all the colors.
  9. That’s cool. Thanks for the input Carowill.
  10. So Fire1981, is that a milky base color? I can’t really tell. I’m just wondering if that’s a silver version. That’s a really cool marble I’d look into. The one you said is going for high dollar, is that a purple or one that is similar to yours.
  11. On Marble Alan’s page he talks about Popeyes and color combinations. He doesn’t really talk about which ones are hard to find though. I have been told and have read that purple Popeyes are hard to find. Don’t know how true it because I have one. LOL.
  12. Wow, is that blue of blood ?
  13. Yes, they do that a lot.
  14. I really like the bubbles too. If you think about it bubbles saves money. More bubbles means less glass per marble. That means MORE marbles>
  15. Supermisfit, Here are some posted on-line. Peltier marble info.
  16. Found some cullet’s the other day now I’m trying to find a matching marble. I found this one on an online auction. I’ll have to save up for that marble. Do you think it’s a close match. I think the lighting might be a little different but the colors are pretty close. The seller has it labeled as a Christianson tricolor swirl. Thanks all.
  17. The "Butt Crack" kind of leads me down the Jabo path. I think there are other marbles that have this characteristic maybe not as drastic but don't have the same colors.
  18. Treetiger I have a very similar marble and I’ve been searching for a few days now and I think mine is either Alley or Ravenswood. There again I’m still developing an eye and more opinions will help us both. It looks like our lighting is a little different a background colors can change things too but I think we are in the ball. I hope I hope I haven’t hijack your post.
  19. I’ll shoot from the other hip and say I’ve seen some very similar Davis, Jackson and Champion too.
