Looks pink but it's more lilac/lavender
YasudaCollector replied to daddio68's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Interesting marble! The green looks very intense. The marble also seems to have some sort of a sheen to it. -
Hmm, interesting. It seems like these Bulgarian marbles are starting to pop up in a lot of different places. I see a ton of them on ebay.

What is the Holy Grail of hand mades ????
YasudaCollector replied to Fire1981's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Man! Has anybody ever seen one of the Chinese birdcage marbles? It almost reminds me of the glass used in some older Chinese paperweights (the sandy color base glass with bright primary color designs). -
Cool!

The opposite side of the marble from the pontil is a little flatter than the other parts of the marble. It is also largely the white base color with very few of the orange swirls reaching that side.

This was one of the first marbles I ever bought! I was like 12 years old and thought that the sunset orange coloring was really cool. All these years later, I still have absolutely no idea what it is though. Any guesses are appreciated 😊

Foreign/Japanese Patch Marbles
YasudaCollector replied to YasudaCollector's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Nice! -
Thanks! 🙂 Is it at least like 20 or 30 years old? I have some of these that are like 10 years old, and the swirls look a lot more uniform.

I bought this one inch marble from a collector in Missouri a couple months ago. Based on the twisted pontil, it looked to me like some kind of Chinese transitional. Is it a modern replica, or is it an older Chinese marble (mid-century)?

Here are some close ups of the marbles in question. (Not the aqua and white one). -

Awesome jar! That Alley carnival looks gorgeous! There sure are some giant Benningtons in there too.

I'll post more pictures of the patch marbles by the way pretty soon. I've just gotten a couple more that I can add in to the group. 😁 -

Very interesting! I can't say I've seen another one of those. The green base looks really bright. The white almost reminds me of the "wales" marbles. -

The biggest red and white one is 0.75" by the way. I've found most of these guys in big lots of Japanese transitionals/figure 8's from the UK. -
Foreign/Japanese Patch Marbles

Just thought I'd post these. I think they are probably Japanese. A lot of them look like they are trying to be Peltiers or Marble Kings, but the glass is not quite right. I was wondering if anybody else has seen these, or if they've ended up in anybody's "what the heck is that" jar. -

Sorry for not posting the size of my mibs earlier. Rookie mistake 🤣 The ones in the black box are anywhere from 31/32" to 1 5/32" The ones in the wood box are all under 3/4".

Wow! I guess it makes sense since Portland is a west coast city (there'd be a lot of trade with Japan). I see a few Japanese transitionals here and there since I am near Seattle.
-
Oh my gosh, one of them looks purple! (In the left middle row).
-
Wow! That's an awesome original box!

Here is my Yasuda/Japanese collection so far.

Hello everybody! I have been a collector for a few years now (I've been on All About Marbles for a while too). My main area of collecting has been Japanese transitionals/Yasuda marbles.
