  1. I stuck them in this old Chinese rice box.
  2. Here are all my vitro cat's eyes:
  3. Ooh, I have a lot of these Japanese marbles with straight pinch pontils. Should I post a few pictures? According to Aiko, all Japanese transitionals with pinch pontils were made by Yasuda. All of the transitionals with messy crease pontils (like Frankenstein stitches) were made by another Japanese company called the "Nippon Special Glass Ball MFG Co". Quite a mouthful! 🤣 Sorry for all the information, I've been emailing Shiroaiko a lot lately. She really has found a boatload of information though.🙂
  4. Incredible find! I thought the bit about the original prices of German marbles was really interesting. Were they really produced in large workshops by impoverished laborers (even kids) like the article says?
  5. Awesome vitro hybrid! I have a boatload of them. I really like how you can collect them for years and still find new color combinations. (I recently found one that is deep violet and cobalt blue).
  6. Man! I'd better start looking for them around the Seattle area then. 🧐
  7. They bigger ones are about 0.7 inches, the smaller one is about 10/16
  8. Here are some others I bought from an ebay seller in New York:
  9. I'll try and get a close up of the pontils in some more pictures.
  10. Thank you 🙂 Yeah, the opaque ones have the messy crease line as the transparent ones. However, I have seen one red and white example (closer to 0.75") that has a pinch pontil. It seems like Japanese transitionals can have either a pinch pontil or a crease pontil.
  11. I thought maybe the navy blue one might either be a Vitro or some kind of foreign patch. (The glass is very shiny).
  12. Sorry, I tried to get a photo that really captured the color but my phone is kind of a cheaper Samsung. 🫤 It really didn't capture the white very well.
  13. Here's the shooters. They're all 0.99" and over.
  14. Any guesses? The brushed white didn't really come through in the picture of the dark blue one.
  15. Yeah, sounds like I have quite a bit of collecting to do (which I enjoy of course!) So far I have 90 including 9 shooters.
  16. Oh my gosh! My dad had several of these red and yellow Vacors as a young kid (back in the late 1960s to early 1970s).
