  1. Awesome finds guys!!! I'll have to rummage through my collection. I think I have a ton of these ones.
  2. Ooh, I have some Jabo classics (mib size) that look a lot like the first guy.
  3. Maybe its from another Asian country like Taiwan or India? (Those two countries usually have a ton of bubbles).
  4. Is there any way to tell (by specific vein colors or color combos) if a caged cats eye was made in Anacortes?
  5. Wow!!! Awesome mibs! 😎😎😎
  6. I agree, the name is pretty cool 😆 Since I live pretty close to Anacortes, I always wonder if I'll find any in the various jars I pick up here and there. Interestingly, I did read in pinx's book that the workers at Anacortes were given a ton of leeway in the marble making process with color combos (which resulted in a ton of cool hybrids).
  7. Here are some caged cat's eyes I've picked up over time. Do any look like they could be Anacortes types? I've heard they are often hybrids and have very clear glass with lots of teeny tiny bubbles.
  8. Sorry for the delayed response 😬 I couldn't make it this year (my dad had a birthday trip booked). I am open for the Seattle show next March though.
  9. Here are some more of the 1970s ish Chinese types I found recently:
  10. Very nice marbles! I think its incredible to see original collections like these. 🙂
  11. Those guys look awesome! I agree, the wrinkly crease lines are a nice extra.
  12. I even found some of these guys in my collection. They look almost exactly like Japanese cat's eyes, but the vein structure/shape is slightly different and the glass itself seems newer and crisper.
  13. I've been very interested in The World of Cat's Eye Marbles for a couple years and finally got it last week. For any newbies out there, I would seriously recommend getting it since it goes into detail about some of the more commonly found Asian cat's eyes and how to tell them apart by country (something we all probably thought was impossible). I was really interested in the segment on China in particular. (how Maoist China snuck cats eyes into Hong Kong where they were re-packaged and sold to non-Communist countries). My dad was even shocked to see that some of his favorite childhood cat's eyes came from China in all likelihood. He played marbles in the late 60s and early 70s, and bought one of the exact same packages pictured in the book. It was a Hong Kong balloon bag full of single color 3 or 4 vein cats eyes (marbles exactly matching those produced in mainland China).
  14. Yep, this guy looks like a textbook Japanese transitional (probably 1920s to 1930s).
  15. Here are some I picked up recently (on ebay): The seller was very kind and included the green one as an extra.
  16. I find these fairly often, so I've stuck them in this big bait box.
  17. Yeah, the first guy looks like it has a pinch pontil. It's probably a 1930s Yasuda.
  18. The transparent ones are all around 0.70" and the big orange and white guy is 0.76".
