  3. Hi Kbobam My avatar is one of my favorite Akros, it has a deep blue clear base glass with an orange cork. I have some more pics, just can't figure out how to add them, guess it's been awhile lol
  4. Haha! Okay, thanks guys, appreciate the responses and wow! great collection of Akroware Mike! -Jessica
  5. Hello everyone, I usually collect only Akro marbles, but I found something I couldn't pass up in an antique shop up in Maine. It is an Akro Lily Planter with the Akro stamp and the "MADE IN U.S.A." "657" on the bottom. In the MADE IN THE U.S.A. stamp, the N and the S are backwards. It caught my eye, so I bought it. My question is, is this a normal thing for the Akro ware, or might I have something kind of unusual here? Either way, it's pretty cool to find an error stamp for me, I like finding unusual things in antique shops. Any input would be awesome, and thanks! Happy hunting -Jessica
  6. Hmmm, I can't figure out how to put the edited photo in here . . . lol I hate when computers are smarter than I am.
  7. Okay, I put a post-it note on my monitor lol I see about 10 that I'll probably be in the ring for
  8. Wow! I'll be watching for these, I can't seem to see very many though, my eyes won't move away from one specific marble lol. Can't see past that marble! -Jess
  9. I am in no way as good as some on here, but I like to use sunlight with a dark background, it really makes the colors come out (with a white background, the camera tends to over-compensate for the lightness and dulls the overall lighting of the entire photo) I usually just set the marbles on a dark colored non-reflective cloth. Use the Macro setting on your camera (usually indicated by a flower symbol). If you have a tripod to use, use the timer button too, that really helps me. Hope that helps some
  10. I'm a sucker for anything Akro Love the differences in the blue glass
  11. In that last pic, the first one in the middle row, is that a cork? If it is, that would be AMAZING to find a blue and green cork out in the wild Nice score !
  12. Wow! Those are beautiful, thank you for posting pics Edna, it looks like Yellow is the least difficult to find? and Thank you zaboo, I see what differentiates an Ace now always appreciate everyone's input
  13. I'm pretty sure it is,it is almost brown, but it sure acts like oxblood. The sun is tricky, it's only 45 here and it feels VERY cold!
  14. Just thought I'd share a few of my new acquisitions, since it's a nice sunny day
  15. Just the tiniest tiniest bit along one side of the green, but then i might just be staring at it too hard lol Moss Agate it is! Thank you
  16. Hello everyone, I think I might have a green Akro Ace, but wanted to get some further opinions on it. I tried to do some research in the past topics, and it seems this is quite a debated topic, and I apologize before hand if I cause any uproar, but I am very curious. I found the historical Akro advertisments someone posted with the basic colors of Aces, but this is the first green one I've come across. 5/8" Thanks
  17. I like the first group because you can see the inner structure of the snake, and I just like the color combinations in the second pic. I'm not sure if the last one is really an Akro, but that's the pile it's in Thanks for sharing everyone, I'm gonna have to pick my jaw up off the keyboard.
  18. Wow!! I haven't been on in awhile, and I think my eyeballs have popped out of my head!! What an awesome thread!! I love seeing the different color combinations, here are a few of my favorites, enjoy
