I think ?? I have three Gibson's marbles ?? and one I call my Christmas marble , I bought it on the bay for only $20.00 and when I got it it was just GREAT as the inner Latticinio core had ever color that was the outer decoration , and they were very transparent . The other two are nice but !! . Mike .. .. .. '... .. .. .. .. .. .. Being these are not marked I am just guessing on Gibson !! the two are about 1 7/8 but the christmas marble is a big 2 3/8 . I remember buying it because of it's size ,it was a bad picture but when It was on the low end I thought why not and it ended up a good buy . MIKE

Shadow Box Little Bottles And Marbles
mmuehlba replied to mmuehlba's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I think I will just try and remove the ones glued in and see if there marked and then get better pics . as they need a new home. This will have to do for now. Mike .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -
Hi All well I pick up this home made shadow box it has all sort of little bottles and three areas had marbles , I just had to get it . now what to do with the bottles , what are they called ?? any value ?? HOPPING . the marbles in the areas were all older but when I got the glass off they were all chipped except a few . SO I need some info on the bottles / homemade shadow box . The best marble and in mint shape was a banded clearie . The green mica and the other 5/8 hand made were chipped badly . The other one of interest was a 5/8 crockery , I thought that was nice since all I have are bigger . they some pelts, slags blue but a nice sky blue slag and a few WV swirls with one with flames . Mike .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

well my grand son Sam is in kindergarten and they are on the M word this week so Jan made the marble cake , it was always a big hit with the kids , we have made about 5 of these and if you put in all the center holes the cookie tends to brake apart when putting on top of the cake , just thought we would share . Mike

well that is great I was recording every one so I would not miss it , Now I can change that . Mike

Hi all this does not damage the marble , it does not yellow ,and it does not fill in chips , but it will fill in small nicks , it is very much like painting on water , you must put on a very little as it will flow down . I have started using this on my African trade beads . Also if you want to remove it just soak in water and wash it off , but it will take a while as it is a hard finish since it is made for high traffic hall ways in a school . I have had some well over 10 years and still look great . There was a lot of years ago an artist that used a product like this but it was a little different as he would apply and then put in a sphere machine to make round , I saw a 2 inch clambroth that he did , he ground the glass down and then repainted the lines and then applied a polymer and then ground round , he did a great job but the marble community complained so much he stopped redoing marbles. well I got this marble a few weeks ago and thought it was neat as it is an end of or first off marble ?? I think so at least . so I thought it should be helped a little so I waxed it so it would show better . Mike ...''' .. ...... ... ...... ... ... it is not a wax but a industrial water soluble polymer that is used as a floor finish in schools
