Older, Yes. Wiser? Maybe, Maybe Not.

I just made a statement (For you younger people, that's kind of like a 'comment'.) in some personal

correspondence (Messaging!) that I thought was kind of interesting when I took a second look at it.

I more or less said " I have a ten year old 'dumb-phone' because it 'ain't broke'. "

This made me remember a situation from a few years ago.

A friend of mine's elderly grandmother was being encouraged by her family to buy a nice new car.

This woman was worth several million dollars.

She thought this was ridiculous, and pretty much refused to talk about it.

Her 1962 Plymouth ran just fine! Where did her kids and grandchildren get such silly ideas?

At the time, I thought it was the old woman who was being silly.

But now I think she knew what she was talking about.
