Mikie_T
Well, it's round but it is a rock (I think)...... The lady at the antique store said this is alabaster. Sure is cool with all the layers.... I like it.
Mikie_T
It measures at about 1 5/8".... it's a big 'un.
Steph
Mineral spheres are great. I can't say it's not alabaster. I know that in the smaller ones which were actually used as marbles, back in the 1800's, it was extra special if you had red veins. That would make them "blood allies". Mikie_T
Thanks! I guess I need to look up Alabaster to what the rock looks like. Every time I think about this one, I take it out and look at it. There is so much to see in it. (There looks like there might be a little red in the second pic).....LOL Mike
Steph
I could see these coming from similar material. Yours has a lot of clear but some of the more solid white. (These are my actual marble marbles -- a little under 5/8" -- two of them are blood allies.)

Steph
Thanks. Yours is quite the looker. Mine are mostly cool because I know the boys would have thought they were cool in the 1800's. They'd be really easy to miss if you didn't know what you were looking for.
