marblenewbie
The first two pics are most of them. The second two pics are three different batches of ones that I thought could have been from the same manufacturer that were of the same runs. Never had that happen before. Any ideas or should I put them in the ID section
William
That's a nice mix...I see some "keepers" 😊
Alan
The concept of "same run" for machine mades is a red herring. Marble types were intended to match a desired design. In almost all cases that design ran for a very long time (think in terms of a year or years. Rebuilding a pot doesn't mean that a design dies out. Relative consistency was a goal. Retailers ordered what they wanted. There is no reason for two marbles made a year apart to look significantly different, small variances aside.
I'llhavethat1
Some decent looking machinemades. And I'm not sure how Alley boxed their later marbles, but if all from a single source (lets just call it gramps original marble bag) I'd think there is a pretty good chance they weren't too far apart. But interesting thought, since most of the boxed sets I've seen (Pelt, Akro, Alley salesman sample) have some pretty consistent marbles. Maybe they stored them out in a barrel or boxcar for years and picked them out when it was time to fill a box? I don't know
marblenewbie
Thanks guys, sorry for the late post. Was watching the election and smiling. All these matching ones came from the same source so it probably was gramps bag.
