Marbleized
Hi Everyone, Just looking through my box of unidentified marbles and came across these three random ones. All looking Alley to me (or at least WV Swirls?). What do you think? The first is .62", the second is .59", and the third is .61". Thank you!
Ric
Left looks more Ravenswood to me and the right might be Cairo or Heaton. Edited February 20, 2022 by Ric I think Cairo might be a better pssibility for #3 1
Marbleized
Ravenswood would be a a nice surprise! As for the Heaton, just curious (as I don't have many of them) is that puzzle piece like lobe a characteristic of a Heaton? I have a few yet to be identified marbles that also have those interesting twists.

And yes, that wandering "puzzle piece" sort of pattern is not uncommon on Cairos or Heatons.

Hi Ric, Thanks for letting me know about the edit and for the info on Cairos and Heatons. I'm going to go back into my box of Alleys and WV Swirls to see if I can find those patterns. I really appreciate your help!

Just FYI, the pattern on Cairos is usually limited to one side of the marble and transparent striping is usually bubbly. Also, be sure to check out the "Mostly Pics" threads in Steph's Study Hall section of the forum for examples. 👍 1

wvrons
My guess is : Ravenswood or Champion ? That pattern is killer and very unusual for Ravenswood. Might be one of when Dave M. made his best Ravenswood copies at Champion ? I have seen a few of these before. I appreciate all the information that you share! Interesting how when we think of "machine made" we forget (or at least I forgot) that the people running the machines actually influenced what came out of them. Marbleized
I'm goimg to go with Champion for the first one since it gives the marble a cool history. Also, it does remind me of something more modern.
