2 Clear-Based Rainbos?

Clear-based marbles are tricky to photograph, and I haven't yet macgyvered a good way to take backlit photos; so I hope these photos aren't too muddled by refraction!  Mib #1 especially pops in-hand!

Marble #1

  • 16mm
  • Clear Base
  • 2 White Ribbons
    • Each contains a strand of yellow/orange
      • I'm guessing this is a separate color from the red, but can't be positive
  • 2 Red Ribbons
    • Each contains a strand of white

Marble #2

  • 16mm
  • Clear Base
  • 2 Opaque White Ribbons
  • 2 Translucent Red Ribbons

The bottom one is a Cross Through.

Is this in reference to the white ribbons lining up?

I will note that while they do meet at both seams, they are separate ribbons with a gap in the core of the marble.

So, is a "Cross Through" when two seemingly separate ribbons are made on opposite sides from one stream of glass?  Or just when any two ribbons of the same color meet on both seams?
