PittsburghMarbles
Me and my gf bought our first house 2 years ago almost. I never thought I’d be domesticated after spending most of my 20s and early 30s partying and traveling but now I’m totally domesticated at 35. Now that I own a house I absolutely love gardening. I just dug out a part of the yard this weekend. The previous year I planted all native plants in the original garden area. I plan on planting all native this year in the new space and to hopefully attract the now endangered monarch butterfly.

When I think of all the monarchs I seen as a kid, it just doesn't seem possible but I'm trying to remember if I even seen one last year ?? The "milkweed" their natural food used to grow like crazy in the ditches, now all gone from spraying & development, have at er Chris "Good Job"
Melissa
Great idea. I got into gardening in my mid thirties as well. I love blending natives in with other perennials like daylily and peony. I don't think most people truly appreciate the beauty of our native flowers. I have about 4 spots in my yard with milkweed and I love watching for the monarch caterpillars in the summer.
Steph
My first summer in our present house was 2017. And that's the first year I had a garden. Not a lot of space. And I always say I'll keep it small, but I keep making it bigger than planned. Started seeds last week, including tropical milkweed. (We don't tend to plant outside until Memorial Day in these parts.) So of course today my cat got into the seedlings in the mini greenhouse in the livingroom window.
Fire1981
Plant some milk weed for your Monarchs. They desperately need them. There are variations you can find that can live in your climate. We’re lucky to see just one up here🔥 RAR
