treetiger
This marble is full of bubbles and some red striping with white (Oxblood?) Could not say who made it or if it has a name but any thoughts on it would be appreciated. Best wishes
Ric
I do not think this is oxblood. Oxblood usually looks like that on the Akro you just posted. This looks a lot like a Peltier Rainbo, but given the bright white and odd ribbon configuration I think it might be a Kokomo. Does any part of it glow green under UV? The outer edges of one of the red/brown stripes are lined in fluorescent gold. That is all that glows on it- nothing else here is the best pic that I could take of it. Ric
I'm torn between Peltier and Kokomo but leaning slightly toward Kokomo - best to wait and see what others have to say.

Chad G.
Leaning Pelt Rainbo, but I could be wrong, I have a hard time w/ some ko ko's ?? More opinions needed
Fire1981
I think it’s a “Nice Rainbo” or Kokomo with Cruddy Gray base glass. The single red ribbon on one side of the seam is different. The white ribbons in pic 3 are tricky. It looks like the 2 white ribbons are both on the same side of one seam. 🔥 RAR

Jeff54
x3, it's a Peltier with red and white which is a pretty common rainbow that's usually on a blue too gray transparent bubbly base. I have 3 in my hands that have a red and a white stripe.
Ric
I agree the color scheme is pretty typical but the thing that has me thinking about this one is the lack of a flip-flop in the ribbons and the amount of bright white in that "patch" on one pole. To me, that bright white and how much of it there is looks really different for a typical Peltier Rainbo with this combination of glass. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen many, if any, others quite like it, and I like it better than most.

I'm pretty sure I haven't seen many if any, others quite like it, and I like it better than most. It is a theme of a single white colored stripe across from a red. They run from the OP,'s Transparent Bubbling tinted gray to opaque blue tints. Without any effort to specify; as yawl say: "A family". I have 35+ of this type that have a unity of color and design. I think a few people have tried to classify some of these types due to red /white stripes and the gray and blue shades. I never attempted to amass the group I have rather, acquired it because they are more plentiful than a similar themed style, called 7up. 7up's unity is green while this group's is medium dark blue too light blue and gray. I have had these for, IDK, like 25 years. Here's a sample shot of 3 groups. I have 5 groups of these in my trays. The bottom photo has a couple of the same as the OP's marble. Not sure the photos are accomplishing the point, but to see the whole group of 30-40 the family unity would be obvious.

Jeff54
Yeah, there you go Ric, better at capturing the colors, and added yellows I don't have and, your set pretty much covers the entire theme. supporting the point.

Thanks for adding the beautiful pics!! Those are quite the collection! Based on this, your "Library of marbles" must be a "readers' paradise"! The far right vertical row of the second picture seems to be where my marble equates. Isn't Kokomo known for their massive amount of bubbles in their marbles? Even though I have never seen one in person, is the red in my marble the same 'lipstick red' that Kokomo is famous for? To me it looks a little dull; that is why I thought that it was Oxblood. ...? The marbles you're looking at in the last column of my second box are near opaque. It looks like yours has a considerable amount of transparency. Base-wise, I'd say yours is probably closer to the second column in that box. But that's sort of the point Jeff was making, you can find these types with bases that range from near transparent to opaque - yours is more toward the transparent side of the spectrum. Sometimes the bases run from transparent to opaque gray and in other case from transparent to opaque blue - green ones are out there but they are less common. 28 minutes ago, treetiger said: Isn't Kokomo known for their massive amount of bubbles in their marbles? Both Peltier and Kokomo can have lots of bubbles - I wouldn't say one company has a corner on that market. The "lipstick" red on Kokomos is exceptionally bright - you really will not see its equivalent on Peltier marbles. And it's a lot like oxblood (which your marble definitely is not), not color-wise, but for the fact that once you see it in hand you will never forget it. You can get a sense of it on the lower left marble in this little group of Kokomos. I mean it's really an outstanding color. See if you can find a red that's even close on the Peltiers in this thread. 🙂

It had not occurred to me that my marble came in a style with opaque glass instead of bubbles. I am also glad that you have this collection to compare it with. My marble isn't Oxblood, and has no lipstick powers. What would cause all of those bubbles? Would it be the types of chemicals versus temp, or some other variant in the process? I am asking since a friend of mine and I are seriously working toward taking classes in cane glass working so that I can make my own marbles and he can make beads and other stuff. I know certain styles of marbles are known for the galaxy of bubbles while others are void of them- like Vitro Helmets and Cat's eyes. Maybe someday, if I am lucky, I will make a marble with that red lipstick smack!! Thank you😃👍👍
