Seriously- how on earth would this happen?

In UK there isn't much opportunity to buy Sammy's, so when I spotted 15 for sale, I excitedly purchased them...

Well, I was slightly mislead, as 2-3 appear to be Jabo, this one is damaged. The others are absolutely stunning, so I'm still very happy with them, but I'm pretty sure they are a mix of Sammy's and DAS. I'll put pictures up later.

I like this marble. It got thrown off the rollers because the next marble behind it kicked it into the pit or something like that. Sure it’s a misfit but it’s still a nice little piece of almost round glass. Now ? What Run and When🔥

Yeah, luckily we can see the charm of the little one having its insides on show. And yep, it definitely means it can easily be displayed anywhere without rolling away...

If the edge is somewhat rounded (appears like it might be), it is an annealing flaw where the missing piece popped off.  It doesn't appear to be flat-spotted.

I agree with Alan here.

Something happened where a piece popped off while in the rounding process on the rollers.

I have seen plenty of flat sided marbles but they generally have two flat opposing sides.

This is hard to explain but it does happen.

Once in awhile a marble does not want to roll to a round form.

"Flat Spotted" may need to be explained in greater detail than I have to offer here.

Thanks Alan!

I believe this is a DAS marble. I have about 10 or 20 of these types of marbles up for grabs. You can find my contact info on here.

Looks like a flopover ingot.  I assume its OOR?  Just guessing that in hand, its much darker than in the pic (a lot of flash there).

Yeah, from the little I know about these things "annealing fracture " was something I thought, as it's such a clean edge...

Haha, thanks, but after the tax bill and vehicle costs I've had this week, I'm out of the market for a while!

I noticed that in your newest pics, the remaining glass is convex.  Given that, I'll stay with my initial suggestion.
