The Nickel Guy
This marble has a translucent area which you can probably see and has three other patches on an opaque white base. If it were not for that translucent area it could have easily been junk boxed for one of those Imperial marbles of which I have a bunch of. I would like to know what it is. I do know, for a somewhat not so exciting marble, I sure do like it a lot. Thank you!
akroorka
“Imperial Marbles “is a name that comes from a west coast company that imported marbles from a variety of Asian and Mexican marble makers. Imperial never made marbles, they just imported them and repackaged them for sale in the USA. This is why you will find many variants of this type. Look up Imperial Marbles on E-bay and look at the fine print. They lay it out there from package to package. Some packages may include ten or more countries involved. It is surprising that so many look alike, taking this into consideration. The ones that you show are considered by collecors to be "Imperials"--Just a general term forced on to collectors by a west coast marble jobber who sold and packaged what they could cheap. Marble--On!!
The Nickel Guy
I show the second picture to refer to the type of marble that my first picture could easily be mistaken for, I do not think my first image shows an asian or marble that was packaged by imperial. I think that marble I took images of and made a collage of sorts of different views of it is not exactly a newer marble, I think it is maybe Vitro. I can see some resemblance in this image from Joes Marbles site. https://marbleconnection.com/joemarbles/1Marble Picture Pages/21Vitro/Vitro 008/1 Vitro Large Pages/The Vitro Agate Company 8-38.html
