bumblebee
I didn't have time to describe these in detail, but they contain some good descriptions of shooting techniques and putting English on a shot.
bumblebee
Here's another that may be syndicated/rewritten from another article, but also features more tournament info.

Great stuff here bumblebee. Have you ever come across anything regarding the Akro tournaments? Marble—On!!

Like 1933 in Illinois: Edit: another from 1929
akroorka
This may explain a few things. I have three "Akro Champions poutches"--they are huge. 9"x5". 1926, 1928 and 1931. Finding these is like finding a laying Rooster. They will be preserved for sure but the info on these is nill. I talked to Roger Hardy about them--maybe I should call him back with more questions. Thanks and Marble--On!!
Ric
Neat articles and interesting info about adding English to a shot. I have to believe there are some young marble shooters today who would enjoy and perhaps benefit by reading them. The kid in the first article must've gussied up for his photo shoot. I can't imagine he typically shot marbles in a fancy suit and wingtips. 🙂
