emuslyfox
Hello! Question about Moonies. I know these are a complete pain to identify, and for that reason I’m not really asking for an ID necessarily. I’m mostly asking if these are cutlines and if so, are they indicative of one maker over another. Do they tell you anything about whether it’s more likely one over another? Just trying to educate myself. the size is .77
cheese
No, they are just wrinkles/cold rolls in the glass as far as I can tell. 1
Fire1981
Those marks are caused by the rollers. It can happen on any of the rollers. If the rollers are warm instead of hot. Sometimes cold/cool rollers create orange peel🔥 RAR 1
emuslyfox
Awesome! I thought I read something about parallel | | type seams or something somewhere so that’s why I asked. I definitely appreciate the info! Thank you both! 🙏
emuslyfox
Also, I had noticed another one with the exact same marks so that made me wonder 🤔

Fire1981
Let’s not forget. That’s a really nice Moonie and nice size. I can’t remember because I don’t have any. Those should pop under UV…..right? 🔥 RAR

They’re on eBay and that’s sort of become my main source for marble photos at this point because my marble books don’t have a ton of large photos and when I look them up there, I usually get enough spread in the images to get a good idea of the variation. But I was reading about Moonies in my American Machine Mades book and went down a rabbit hole
