SequoiaBET Posted yesterday at 03:57 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:57 AM It has a slight opalescence, makes an orange dot when light is shined thru it (as seen in the last pic), and no UV. It's 5/8 (.62) inches.

SequoiaBET
Thanks Chad (and Fire). I did see that graphic and read other posts here as well about Moonies. Some of them seemed to leave more questions than answers, for me at least. That's where I got the tip about shinning a light thru it to see the color spot it leaves. (Moonie shows orange, flint moonie shows red.) Also, mine does not have a "fish eye" as far as I can tell. I read that many moonies do, but that it is not a requirement. So @Chad G., do you think mine is an Akro Moonie? It certainly looks like the Akro in the graphic you posted. And any thoughts on the lack of a fish eye? akroorka
2 hours ago, SequoiaBET said: Akro Moonie? Akro "Moonies" vs CAC "Moonies". This is always an interesting discussion for me. I researched Akro“Flinties” for many years. The white ones were always a hard find for me. I came to the conclusion that the Akro white “Flinties” and “Moonies” were the same thing. Now comes the Cac vs Akro thing---There is no doubt a slight difference that could /maybe be told in hand. My advice, Take it to a show and find a CAC collector—and an Akro collector. Nice marble non-the-less and a very good ask here. Marble—On!! 1

Have to be in hand for me and even then I'm no moonie expert. To my knowledge an Akro moonie has to have fish eyes as akroorka says like a flintie as I believe one is.
