I agree with "Chalkie".
These were found in the "digs"--not found too often in a variety of digs that we consider here.
The "digs/chalky" come from a variety of instances that happened under the earth for awhile come into play.
It is just a simple explanation of under the earth for awhile (years) interacting with being buried with a few chemical reactions taking place while being below the ground. @cheese or @Alan may have a better explanationfor you all.
