  1. it's a pretty marble Craig. Haven't seen a post from you in a long time.
  2. I am a big fan of Mike Barton and his glass work. Brian Graham is not too shabby either. Brian's marbles and knowledge of glass are at the top. Few people have done the research Brian has and put it into practice.
  3. No, you don't get it. I was talking about "marble maker" as in the person at JABO, employed by JABO. You were a "guest artist". You were applying what you studied for 8 months. I know a lot of marble makers, but none of them work for JABO, unless their new person is someone I know. I do know you are a marble maker. I repeat : I wasn't referring to you in any of my remarks. You are not employed by JABO. Or maybe you are their new marble maker? Rich, I don't even have time to sell marbles at Texas Shows. They keep me busy. the only down time I have is during in room trading and that is precious little. You did show me your whole case of marbles and I did see the marbles you had out on your table at the show. You had told all of us that they weren't your marbles, they were Joanne's and you couldn't sell them. Many of us were surprised when you talked about how many you sold. You also explained your theories and research to me. I did get it. I was a science major as an undergraduate. I don't agree with all of your findings, but I don't care to argue now about it, nor did I at the show. I gave you space to explain your ideas and I gave you no criticism or disagreement.
  4. it's unusual to me that the very people who were so critical of JABO when David was there are now defending JABO. Which way is it? Galen never had a kind word for JABO. JABO was awful and now they're wonderful? Or is it attack Edna time because I stepped on some toes of someone's friends? Is this board becoming the board to agitate disagreements? IMHO I have the right to ask the questions I asked.
  5. I did not bring this post to the board. Look who posted it. Not me. I have seen more marbles than you think Galen. I have watched marbles for sale on ebay. I have seen some pretty ones, but only a few people got some of those. I have listened to investors who got junk. I've seen what they got. I know people who won't invest there again. I truly want JABO to succeed, but they don't seem headed that way. The owner needs help. I forgot this part. Rich, I did not name any names. I made no comment about you. I appreciate the hard work you did over 8 months, but I didn't see any of those marbles except what you brought to our show. Does that mean it was a very limited run? Any investors in that one? If there were I don't know about them. We're not talking about experimental, learning runs. We're talking here about people risking money for marbles they can sell and recoup their money. Most folks are not like me. I don't sell mine. Most folks expect to make some money selling what they invested in making. I just saw mibs comment. Apparently you missed that. Mibs I thought it was unusual too. And I'm drawing all this criticism because I dared to question?
  6. I wish JABO well. I don't know who you are macdog, but you seem to know me. I have seen what has come out of JABO since David McCullough was fired and I would not want any of it. You are correct that I have no loyalty to JABO under the present situation. They have had no marble maker since David was fired. No one has been successful for an entire run More junk than pretty marbles. I hope they can find a marble maker and investors that listen to the marble maker and machine operators that know what they are doing. I have also heard that their machine operator who does know what he is doing is leaving. Don't know if that has happened yet. They need some experience there and I don't mean investors that thought they knew. Unless I knew they had competent operators and a glass and machine knowledgeable marble maker I would not be a part of this. Two marble makers have been fired. People in it only for the money have hogged the good marbles that have been made. Investors have been unhappy and left. What more could I say? I would love for JABO to succeed and many children to take part. The truth is that has not happened, YET. Maybe it will.
  7. I certainly hope my posts alerted people to the correct questions to ask.
  8. From what is in the ebay description and the things left out, I personally would not be interested enough to contact the seller.
  9. I read it again. None of my questions were addressed.
  10. All of that info should be in the auction for potential investors to know up front/
  11. I missed it too or it wasn't there when the listing was first posed. My questions were who is the marble maker? That wasn't there. Who is running the machines? That wasn't there. Who are the investors so far? That isn't there. I only knew the name Dare because I know Darren Hawkins ebay name.
  12. I don't know how I got cross outs in the above message. Can't seem to change it. I didn't mean to cross out my question. I think anybody who invests that kind of money needs to know who is in it and who is making the marbles.
  13. I wonder who is involved in this besides Dare?
  14. I have a red and white slag glass cornucopia (Akro mold) but it is made by Imperial Glass. They must have bought that mold. It's stamped with a "G" imposed over a larger "I"
  15. I've never had that happen either. Although some of the ones I helped in their early days, went on and surpassed my knowledge and THAT'S A GOOD THING!
  16. Not many of us "charge" to help you. Some of us spent a lifetime in teaching and don't believe in "hoarding knowledge". I'm hoping marblemiser is joking. Lots of others help for free.
  17. Should have done it before I left for home.
  18. Duffy, I sent you a padded mailer last week. Did you get it?
  19. All of the marbles were donated to the VFW by David McCullough from JABO and the owner at MidAtlantic.
  20. And these are the MidAtlantic red white and blues.
  21. Looks like the same marbles that the VFW was selling in these bags. These were made by MidAtlantic. These were made by JABO
