  1. How about a cloudy lavender cyclone swirling in a pastel blue sky........
  2. Thanks Steph, good info. Alan's description references that the light blue glass is transparent, which Greensburg's Guide did not mention. So I guess they could look like Alley Blue Skies but with transparent light blue instead of opaque?
  3. I was reading back over my Greenburg's Guide today. On pg 106 (1994 2nd edition), Dennis references that CAC made "Blue Bell" marbles of light blue and white opaque glass. Does anyone have a picture of a Blue Bell that they could post?
  4. Awesome marble, John! Merry Christmas Mibsters!
  5. A Christmas wreath in the round and confetti snow globe:-)
  6. Found some neat stuff...No Not sure if I can post this link but here goes........ http://www.bowlingmuseum.com/Visit/Online-Exhibits/History-of-Bowling-in-the-US Hope I am not violating a site posting rule.........
  7. Hey Chuck G, thanks for posting your interesting info. The presence of fibrous material had me thinking it was an early earthenware firing. I'm now wondering how early a "ball or bowl" would have been made for some kind of bowling game, and in/where what culture. Hey Google!:-)
  8. I picked up this interesting earthenware bowl at a local auction. It is made of a light weight, low-fired earthenware material and measures 3-3/8" in diameter. Under magnification, the furnish is a matrix of clay and fibrous (assuming plant or straw) material. There is the faint remnant of a thick black line that traverses the circumference, with trace green and red surface coloring here and there. I have not been able to find much info on earthenware lawn (or carpet) bowls. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on where it might have been made and approximate vintage. Thanks, mibstified
  9. OK........in lieu of the thread killer brown and pink combo, how about brown and green.........
  10. Tough combo. This CAC pee wee is the closest I have Next color combo, brown and pink........
  11. Hey, sorry for the loooong delay in replying. The pics are of a CAC mib with the yellow and orange cased in a clear base that has micro thin threads of blue glass. That was my stealthy color change.
