  1. Ravenswood and Alley both made marbles like this and they are very difficult to tell apart, especially from pictures. If there are slight blue tones on the base glass, as it looks here, I would lean Ravenswood. If not, I would lean Alley. But based on these photos, it is a tough call either way.
  2. Nice, it looks like a family photo rather than a professional job to me - lucky find IMO!
  3. Thanks for the pricing info, Ron. I had no idea Neons were going for that much money. I'll have to find mine and bring them in from the garage. 😉
  4. At on At one point, I had a a few thousand Conquerors, I picked through them and pulled out good examples of the different colored patches and fancy (in the normal sense of the word) ones. I don't think I ever really tried to figure out what were the most common or rare colors. Someday, I'll have to find them and take a pic. 🙂
  5. I don't think i have ever heard a satisfactory explanation as to the difference between Exotic and Fancy Conquerors so I sorta gave up on those names. I just know a good one when I see it. 🙂
  6. Some are definitely keepers!
  7. There are Conqueror variants on colored transparent glass - they might be called Fancy or Exotic Conquerors, I forget which.
  8. They are Vitro - 100%, and that sort of purple/lavender/pink color is not so uncommon on Vitros.
  9. They can get really cool looking, without doubt . . .
  10. That is a cool looking marble. My first thought is that it looks a lot like a whacky Vitro Conquerror. Is there a seam other than the one in the third pic you could show me?
  11. @MelissaAnd here's a current link to an article Lee Linne wrote in 2010 . . . https://www.fohbc.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/MarbleBeads_BE_SeptOct2010.pdf
  12. @MelissaHere's an old thread you might find interesting . . .

    Vacor/jabo

JABO made some pretty cool Classics and it's not too uncommon to find UV reactive glass in them. There is one called a JABO Ghost that looks like a pretty plain transluscent brown marble until you put a UV light on it, then all sorts of interesting colors and patterns emerge.

    I'd say it's a JABO Classic.
  15. Is it really red because it looks brown in the pics and is the base bright green or a paler green?
  16. 1" Wee Glo marbles ca. 1999-2000, I think . . . Of course, they fluoresce like nuts!
  17. It's CAC or Alley - need to see the base color and striping more clearly to make a call, but at the moment, I am leaning CAC.
  18. Those are really pretty, Melissa. It surprising to me how different the background color looks from one pic to the other.

    Vitro?

Not optimized for close-up shots on small objects, I'll bet.
