  1. I always forget the commonly accepted size cut-off between "boulders" and "toe-breakers" - do you know what it is?

    3 shooters

Yes, seams, but remember, they can get pretty wild on big ones. Tomatoes tend to be translucent too.

    Cats eye

Sorta looks to have orange peel texture on the surface - does it?
  4. @Dave 13 It's a nice marble and it definitely has less common colors.

Yup, big game marbles. The one on the left looks like it might be a Vitro Tomato - any Vitro traits showing?

    3 jabo?

    JABO Classics IMO.
  7. It's the tip of an iceberg . . . It used to be that "special" (definitely eye of the beholder) or uncommon marbles were named by collectors (players/kids is another matter). Now many marbles are named by collectors, regardless of how "special" or uncommon they are. I have mixed feelings about the trend but imagine that at some point everyone will realize that a name does not make a marble special, uncommon or, necessarily, even collectible. And it surely shouldn't have any real impact on a marble's monetary value.
  8. Can you tell what color the base glass is?
  9. I agree, seeing the true colors should help determine which.
  10. I'm thinking it's Akro - a very cool one too.
  11. Glad to hear you're playing it smart. Learn first and spend later is the wise thing to do.
  12. If there is any, strong surface lighting should show it - the sun is always best. But look carefully, tiny bubbles can be deceiving sometimes.
  13. They look like Champions to me.
  14. I don't know, man, the green with added blue is very nice! Be sure to look carefully for AV.
  15. @Dave 13 Nice ones! I always like it when Pelt's orange bleeds pink over white and I notice it seems to happen more often on the blue-based ones . . .
  16. Welcome, Angie. I do not believe it is a CAC or that it falls into the Alley Halloween family. It's very hard to make out the colors. Is it blue base glass? Opaque? Translucent?
  17. Might be Alley, but I think it could be from more than one maker - you will probably never know for sure who made it.
  18. Cool Rainbo, Art. I've always liked the white in transparent ones - like slags with a more predictable structure. And the base on this one is great - I've seen it too, sort of a dark amber/red color. MMmmm good!
  19. I think it's probably JABO too.
  20. Marble King "Broken Corkscrew" - I have never seen another . . .
  21. Maybe because it's a Pelt? 🙂 Nice lazy "S" on that seam in the 3rd pic. If it's not Pelt, I'd have to go with an even weirder Marble King. I don't see Vitro no matter how I slice it.
