Again, AFAIK, the 3/4" ones (Woodstock Lawnchairs?) were made a few days after the "original" 5/8" ones - might well have been the same lawnchair though. lol
-
Off to the Indy Show so I'm going to cheat a little and just point people to some of my favorites . . . 🙂
-
AFAIK, the original JABO Lawnchair marbles were 5/8" and had metal on a green or blue transparent base - I don't think there were any significant variations beyond that.

The marbles shown in this thread are hand painted porcelain "chinas" made in Germany. As for the reference sites you mention . . . Robert Block's site: https://www.marblecollecting.com/ Joe Marbles site is here, literally: https://marbleconnection.com/joemarbles/ Alan's site is now curated: https://buymarbles.com/marblealanhome.html And you are currently on a site that, no doubt, "chronicles entire lifetimes of knowledge and detail. And tons of reference photos". Welcome back to marbles! 🙂

I agree with Chad . . . the center looks like a Vitro Tiger Eye variant and the last an Alley. I think the first may be a JABO Classic.
-
The first looks like a Vitro Conqueror variant and the second a JABO. The third looks like a WV Swirl to me.
-
Another possibility for the "patch" . . . might be an even weirder Akro. And 1" Rainbos definitely aren't as common as smaller sizes but they're not that hard to find either.
-
All of the ones you point out look like Peltiers to me. And you are correct, the Peerless Patch is not pearlized.
-
Sure looks like it to me, Melissa.

An important consideration is the depth of any damage. If it's too deep, removing it will also remove exterior decorations and leave you with a marble that may not look anything like the original.
-
I got it now, there's one photo of a Jinx in with the other photos for #2 & #4.
-
Where are 9 & 13? Am I missing something?
-
I think these may all be JABOs.
-
I think they are all from the Mansion run - pretty sure #4 is a "Pink Flamingo".
-
I heard this at the Indianapolis Show about a year ago and I sure hope I wasn't given incorrect information. I have tried to learn more but have not been able to find any information online. I will certainly try to verify the info at the show next week.

These are very nice marbles. - thanks for showing them!
-
Very nice, Art - that's a great group!
-
I cannot find nor have I seen any trace of an obituary, Hansel.

@Melissa Nice! Some pretty ones - I didn't realize so many had names. 🙂

When Ron wrote the note, it seems he thought this Tribute Final run would be the last private investor run at JABO in late 2010. I know there was some discussion of the company closing at the end of the year. But that was not be be, investor interest would drive Dave McCullough and contract production through early 2012.

I should mention that your photography skills have really come a long way!
