  1. I think it was more to deceive and thereby make more money ( in my opinion). But it is smooth to the touch and not apparent without good light. It could have easily been missed and seen as internal fracturing
  2. no problem, just dont want other collectors to get stuck.
  3. I bought this marble a while back from a reputable dealer. It is a really nice 3/4" tricolor CAC. However under black light you will notice the two green fluorescent spots. Those represent a polymer that was put into chips and then smoothed out. While the seller gave me a full refund with no problems (and I trust his not knowing about the polymer), I took pictures meaning to educate new collectors and old if they have never seen this before. This could have been a very expensive lesson.......so always have your black light and accept you dont know everything! Please feel free to add lessons or just identification tips of your own Craig
  4. Brian, Ill have to bring them down for you to see, I am up in brecksville
  5. yeah I think I am with Sami on MF Christensen oxblood slags
  6. Hey Sami, Yeah I thought about that, I have a few of the olive green ones with oxblood, but had never seen aqua. Three of them are good enough to go in my keeper box, with minimal damage if any, the other four are a little worse, but not terrible by any means. Thanks for the input! Craig
  7. I tend to agree with you, but lets see what else people say.
  8. Think so? I just checked the white with a black light and they blow up and the base goes transparent. Hmmmmmmm
  9. single views, the one with alot of red is awesome in hand!
  10. Hey everyone, I got these slags today from a collection, all were found together for what thats worth. 3/4-5/8" Five have some sort of damage, but ALL have "oxblood" mixed together with white in a aqua/turquoise base. No pontils, just cut off marks like on Handgathered MFC and CAC. I am really interested to see what your opinions are not only to age, but also to maker. Craig
  11. those are alley, i had one at Canton and a well known Alley collector snatched it. i thought it was CAC, but was learned otherwise
  12. the colors are not the normal CAC, but the construction is. its a odd ball, but a cool one at that
  13. Found this the other day 11/16" and has 4-5 colors of red/orange/yellow/bluegray/brown(probably blend) The red/orange/yellow are all distinct and not blended, four good turkey heads. I need some thoughts and reactions. I am thinking a particular maker, any opinions? NOT JABO Craig
  14. found them on ebay along with a 3/4" cubscout in a buy it now, that had questionable pics, but took a chance an lucked out:) C
  15. Got these today, 1. Flaming Dragon over 7/8" with green aventurine sprinkled in the edges of the red bands and 2. 13/16" rebel minor damage and blow out, minimal aventurine. Ever seen a flaming dragon this big!?!? Just wondering Any comments appreciated, Craig
  16. Ken, you think that purple and green is CA? I was hoping so...and that it wasnt a messed up akro cork. But has a nice turkey on it:) Thanks for all the kind comments Craig
