Here are the some marbles I got from Canton, Some traded/bought/begged/and cried over. Finally found a blue ray on top and a four color flame, the other electric orange I found has a lavender base. Just back lit it, Who knew? Couple of handgathered CAC's as well. Thanks to everyone for all the great information learned. It is much better in hand and directly from people who collect only certain makers etc. They can explain certain subtleties and nuances that normally you wouldnt notice. The people I buy from are always the best, thanks again for patience with me. Go to the shows! Craig

Got this little guy in the mail yesterday, it is 11/16 or so and is lime green with black aventurine all through it. Definitely not yellow, but the color bleaches out when flash is on....I think I may have hit the jackpot, I have only seen one like it at a show in Canton Thoughts? Any and all opinions welcomed (even if you say its just a bumblebee) Craig

so is it a rare color combo? Or are these readily available
-
Yeah the center one is 3/4" I think, its a sweet one
-
-
Well, I got the center one some time back and thought it was a pretty rare combo, until I found these 5 today all in the same place. They have the following color combo of orange, dark red/brown, turquoise and a thin line of baby blue. Anyone know anything about these? Any help is greatly appreciated, Craig

yeah he is in his 60's and there is no creek behind his place that I saw

Steve, to your knowledge, do all guineas have at least one seam then? whether hidden or blatantly obvious? Craig
-
Thats the only reason how you could get both globs and stretches of the same color glass on one marble either on the surface or in the interior.

I think the barber told me there were six glass hoppers with shards of individual colors coming down into one nozzle or frit I guess and then move over clear/blue/amber glass. Revelation: It almost seems to me as if the glass shards were laid on a table in whatever amounts or configurations and the a punty of clear glass rolled over them picking up the shards and then stretched and then cut almost like cane marbles with just the outer layers. This would give the appearance of stretched glass just like on all guineas as they were cut by machine or not. As far as cobras go, I bet they just rolled the shards and then folded the glass in half on top of itself so the color remained within the clear and then made the cut as it was fed into the rollers! Think about it

See and maybe the guinea in that auction is not fake!
-
I dont doubt his knowledge, he was great and had lots of info, I had just never seen a guinea without cuts. It was very similar to the ones you show, just a little more mottled and the color separation was more blended than I was used to. And those are gorgeous by the way! C

He told me that the crushed glass pieces came down through five or six nozzles and fielder manipulated them somehow, it is possible that the internal coloring happened if the common nozzle was inserted into the clear too much? So it doesnt matter that the flecks were very minute compared to my other guineas? at one "pole" there seemed to be a clear area almost like an onionskin has at the one pontil, and the guinea colors did "cobra" there into the clear; and maybe the seam is invisible! I wish I had a camera to take pictures of it.

The white in CAC helps me identify it, it has a certain crispness that the other companies do not have, that and it fluoresces like the dickens!(most of the time)

Oh and look how fake this is! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320524509990&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Hey, Did CAC make guineas with no cut lines at all, I mean just straight specks? The reason I ask is because last weekend I went to Cambridge and happened to cross paths with the famous Cambridge Barber. He told me several stories about CAC and was a pretty interesting fellow to say the least. Anyway he had a guinea he wanted to sell me with obvious CAC glass, but no cut marks and a VERY small speckled pattern. It looked almost like a remelt to me but there were no external signs of torch work. Needless to say, I passed.....Does anyone have an example? He explained to me how Fielder made guineas. He says they were all HANDMADE and only made for 1.5 yrs. Which I found hard to believe because of the usual cut lines (which come from a machine) Please enlighten me, Craig
