Golden Rebel Vs The Golden Bee

If you already had a strong opinion on the matter why even ask ? I do not see how someone could get confused from a very simple thread like this one. -
hmm, those kind of look like the ones i remember, thanks for posting them Edna.

Id say this type here is kind of rare, i haven't seen many of these. -
Thanks Steve & Steve, foggy is the key word for me also Duff, i couldn't remember for certain if it was Vitro or MK or even called a Lucky 7. Any idea on the time line of the Vito version of these ?
-
Is it actually called a lucky 7 though ? i kept thinking it was but knew for sure there was a 7 involved.

No problem, mine is very basic, you can get more creative. They actually sell light boxes and they also sell Tri Pods that hold the lamps, i just didn't see paying the money for the boxes or Tri Pods. And of course you don't need a big old Quartz crystal on your photo table to get good pics LOL

Yeah but you got some good pics, and didn't you post up some cool Advertisements on Master awhile back ? -
This should be a good learning and sharing thread. Yes i know this has probably been covered a gazillion times, but it's funner when it's interactive and not just lurking on the board searching old threads. I think Masters go over looked to often and are low on the totem pole for most collectors. You rarely see Masters get up there value wise ( even though some should be worth more than they are). I know some of the known Master collectors know a lot about them but they never share any info, which is there business but it's one of the company's i have yet to get familiar with and think it's time i do. They always tend to never leave my collection, i been stock piling Masters since day one, and just can't get rid of them. Although i did sell that Box Set i had ( kicks self in butt) Steph, your help will be greatly appreciated in this thread as you probably have a lot of stuff you can add on the subject, and if anyone else is willing to participate it would greatly appreciated. Maybe we can start this one off with something like what ones are common what ones are rare what color combos are htf and maybe we can cover how similar Master and Akro's are and why that is. Was there ever any digs at the plants ? But first here's a pic of one my favorite Masters. This doesn't have to be a strictly Info thread, please post your favorites as well!

I think i remember something about a marble having like seven colors, and if i remember correctly it was a patch type. Does anyone know who made them ? and does anyone have a pic ?
-
Checking them out

Craig showed me one last year, that was actually pretty mind blowing. Maybe we can get him to post it again. His was actually outstanding. It had a woody like black patch with the same color of base as Stephs, Brilliant "Golden Bee".

Yeah, i love that thread and can't thank Alan enough, although i do partly blame him and that thread for my WV Swirl fetish It's good to debate, me and Ron had a nice talk about the ones in question being Ravenswood, he was waiting on some mullet ( o wait we aren't talking about SP ) i meant cullet and hasn't got back to me yet. David im sure you got some really nice WV stuff, so i think it's time you got around to learning how to post pics, i want to see some of the types your considering Premiums, i'm always game for stuffing my brain with marble facts

I had the same problem, i like to get into the matrix of the marble the best i can, i could never achieve that with a flash on my camera. Funny thing is when i first seen Alans pics, i had to try and get mine just like his, so i tried A LOT of different things, from LED to regular bulbs to flood bulbs to the flash and could never get really vivid colors and depth like i could with the Full Spectrum. I did use the shields but not anymore, i took them off, i am probably using the same ones your talking about with the clamps. I just took the shields off, it seemed they was giving off to much of a reflection on the mib. Heres my very basic setup, and it works well for me, it may be to much for some people, i know Derick is a big time Photo hobbiest and has probably tried everything under the sun and has much more experience than i do so i have to do what makes it easier on me. I tend to keep the lights about 6 to 7 inches away, and you can aim them on the mib how you want, i been using a Grey background for every mib now it helps a lot. Very seldom will i use plain back or plain white. I am using a 10Mgp Sony Cyber Shot DSC-T70 Touch Screen digital camera, i rarely use a setting over 3Mgp for marbles, you just don't need to, i have everything set on Manual Mode, i use the Natural Daylight settings for color balance since my bulbs are day light bulbs this works great. I always use the Super Macro which is one of the best features on the Cyber Shot, some times i have to adjust the EV brightness levels up a few or maybe down a few depending on the mib and back ground, you'll eventually find your sweet spots. It's also a very good idea to not have any other light source on even if there way across the room they will still affect the lighting, the other bulbs could throw the coloring off, and give it a yellow look. The next step should be getting very familiar with your cameras software the image editing program, to adjust colors, trim & crop or sharpen it up! Hope this helps

He's chilln -
of course i know you take it serious, what i said come out wrong as usual, i bought those bulbs when i first got started, and to be honest i never could get my flash to work and get what i wanted, i wish i could have though i could have saved some money lol As far as lugging my bulbs around, i really don't plan on taking my bulbs anywhere they are for here only, and i have room so they better suit me. Plus my camera didn't take really good close ups that far away so my flash would be to bright.
-
Man with that clear matrix like that, i really am stumped, ill guess Alley or Champion.
-
Dani you can send that to me for closer inspection and ill gladly give you an id on it. I did hear they are having problems at USPS though you may not get it back right away Whats the size on it ?
-
I think those energy bulbs are daylight bulbs to Dani. I just took my marble picture taking serious and i also sell lots of other stuff on eBay and want exact colors so i went for the upgraded model in the bulb area or maybe i'm a sucker

Golden Rebel Vs The Golden Bee
feelnmarbleous replied to MARBLEMISER's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Ray, i know my short time at collecting doesn't count for much as far as experience but since ive been collecting, ive seen more Golden Rebels than Golden Bees. Not sure on Value though. -
I think it's a bit further than uncommon IMHO. I would be more on the fence with HTF and Rare. To be honest ive only seen 2 or 3 of those.
