  1. Holy crap! sitting here going through some Akros, and listening to HLN for background noise, and recognized a voice. I looked up, and sure enough, Kasmar's on the National News, speaking on his plight for a donor for his daughter's desperately needed lung transplant. Heart's out to you, and yours Russ. Best wishes.
  2. Hmmm. I heard "Ohio" from a certain well known marble man in Sistersville.
  3. I was told Mike Rearic moved to Ohio. info. I heard his ex wife did all the tomfoolery to his previous account. I finally got my refund for the Akro Eggyolk Oxblood.
  4. A lot of concern about the vintage look alike oxblood marbles coming out of the Jabo plant. Here's an example. http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item5d2bee91e1 This is one of the closest examples, and the listing is leaving it open. They are pre-Odyssey tank wash marbles. I'm pretty sure the seller knows what He's got there, based on his Akro experience, and recent involvement with Jabo, seen in his other listings. However, he's way off on run names. I think the four color Jabo is actually from the Tribute 1" run, but I could be wrong. He obviously has a bunch of Odysseys listed as Joker first run. Anyway, my point is, the fear of modern machined oxblood marbles, tainting the vintage pool is somewhat valid, but it's my firm belief, that any seasoned collector can see the difference, especially if they've studied Jabo marbles. It's the Newbies that may fall victim. Watch out for the New Decade Silver Oxbloods. They're a toughie. Especially the ones where the ox is laying on the surface. About 5% are really close. Some of the patterns are not discernible, so magnification on the surface is the way to tell.
  5. Thank you all. I suppose when one begins to remember their password, they're no longer a lurker.
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/...=STRK:MESELX:IT I thought, and listed these as Vitro. Opinions are okay, but I'd like to find someone who has seen, and knows these marbles. I got them from a guy who bought them along with a bunch of Vitros that were supposedly dug. He did have some Jabos too, but I've seen a bunch of Jabo runs, employee collections, and more, and never saw these. It doesn't help that if they are Jabo, they have the Vitro look to them. The sizes from the whole bunch not listed on ebay, range from a hair over 5/8", to 7/8". Some are patch, and ribbon, and others have the swirl. Not that it matters too much, considering the same machines were used.
  7. Not $7.99 any more. Yeah, the market has experienced a bit of a flood, but I personally won't let any sell too cheap on ebay. Being amongst the first from Marble King, they will always have value. Looks like someone had their hands in the pie. I picked up a few different batches from a couple different dealers, all in WV. I will sell them for $15 each, or $10 for quantities of three, or more, and that's not making much of a profit.
  8. You can have mine. I'm too newbie for this trip. Wow. How did they get our info.
  9. This is great. Not only does the availability of the listings fall into question, but so does the description. Read. http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item3ee9c587f9 "Ebay store items are subject to prior sale. Please email me to confirm this item is still available." That's asking for a negative.
  10. Thanks for the Plug Griffe, intentional, or not. I'll get your name spelled correctly in the future.
  11. I recommend you bring a lot of cash, and pull up a chair with me. I'll be set up.
  12. Okay, here's my opinion. First off, the marbles are okay. They are completely different color wise, but rather boring, and a limited selection. I'm basing this on seeing a couple thousand of them. Second, I should have produced the box sets for them, but opted not to make money off of something they could get done from the same suppliers, without my cut. They did already have a logo. Big mistake. The boxes are what? A clear plastic food carton, with a gold print sticker, and two slabs of cut foam, that don't fit well, and have no holes, or anything to keep the meager 13 marbles from rolling around. For another $1 per box, a nice die cut foam could have been employed. Apparently 5000% mark up was the bottom line. I do like the 1", Logo marble. The print is good. At $15 a box, I'd keep my mouth shut, but it's not a very good deal at $25. I've gotten relatively worse deals though, and as a collector, I'm happy to have one, regardless. I'll remove the foam, and fill the box full with some of my Kokomo marbles. It will look sweet that way. Like a new, full box.
  13. Thanks for the info. I had forgotten they were making boxed sets. Ordered mine today.
  14. I've never seen these before. They have no date. I could pick these up from a guy, but I've no idea what they might be worth. Any help?
  15. I thought this was a "New, Old Fashioned". by Champion. http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item3a58b22d2d
  16. I've finally got myself caught up to offer up some boxed sets from the run. Please check out my post in the buy, sell, trade forum. My link I summarize the Canton show, and the run. Jeff.
