Hey David has a great plan for absolving you of your sins, that is if you feel guilt which I hope you do not. What board I want to go and transgress now also.

Glad you are here, I have missed your cheerfulness.

Just the three colors that you see in the pic. On the other side there is a "v" in the mustard color. But the connection is so slow tonight that is the only pic that would load. Not sure what an "eye" is? This thread has been great I was just haunting ebay and looking at parrots and was able to go -THATS not a Parrot it is a trilite. I felt so proud. Thank You everyone Pen

Think I have the camera program worked out here is a pic of my "parakeet" is it? Sorry can't really do the size, do not have a size thinger but it is about half the size of a shooter. If not a parakeet which I now doubt greatly any idea what it is?
-
Well I have been trying to load my little parrokeet on here but alas it is not happening. My photo program keeps closing on me and the file as it stands is too large. Not even sure it is a parrokeet. But it is definatly smaller then a shooter.

He likes the way extreamly and rare go together. How do you know it is a remelt, and is reamer a technical term or does it just mean the seller is trying to put the marble someplace dark and moist. Pen

Are there base colors for parrots. The one I have that is supposed to be a parrot, but is really too small is a lavendery pink with sky blue which seems to be translucent over white, and a funny mustardy greenish yellow. I will try to get a photo, but both my skills and camera suck. Pen

Oh Please, as a newbie I don't need anybody feeling sad for me. I can feel sad enough for myself if I need to. And I don't need to! The only thing all this contentousness and lack of humor does is make me more cautious and take the time to learn more about my passion before I jump in. I am also giving more thought to what I really want to collect. Not who's opinion I want to collect.

I think not remembering where one left their banana sounds like a serious personal problem.

Love the side by photos. Ha, what if the converse could be true and someone starts passing off German Swirls as genuine Jabos. Not that the Jabos were being passed off as anything but Jabos, but in the future what if?

Since I don't know squat abaout marbles. I would like to put my two cents in, again I know nuthin, but to me the colors are too vibrant for a marble that has seen that amount of aging. Sure it looks like the color was worn off in places but it must have been just worn off cause the colors underneath are as bright as the colors that are not worn off. Shouldn't the different degrees of wear show differing amounts of fading? If this is as stupid as I think it may be please feel free to rake me over the coals I am a big girl and can take it. Pen

Jabo Work - 1" Or More Marbles

Thanks David Pen -
OK here goes I am of the softer gender -Ha I have never been acused of that before and I am trying to keep my teeth from gritting- and yes I like some of the pastel marbles. I like pink in particular. I think I should collect pink marbles. Here is the thought process to collecting pink marbles. As I have learned about marbles and seen all the varieties and colors out there. I have come to this conclusion. Men (in the past) were the marble makers, and being gender driven probably did not make too many "feminized" colors ie: pink, there fore less pink marbles available. Men have been the bulk of the collectors in the past. I believe a good portiuon of us "collectors" are baby boomers. Unfortunatly for us baby boomers we were raised to be gender biazed, over the years many of us have been enlightened but we still in our hard drives have a little bit of that pink is for girls, blue is for boys going on whether we like it or not. Now more and more woman are stepping up to the plate. I see as many responses from woman here as I do from men and many of the newer memebers my self included who respond are woman. I see a growing demand for pink marbles. I want to collect pink marbles because I see their value increasing with the number of woman joining the marble collecting world. I would like what I collect to have increasing value. I believe in the future there will be a larger demand for the "pastel" colors. I may even want to start collecting lavenders. I myself love flame marbles, any flame doesn't matter, just let it be a flame. I will eventually have some nice ones to hold and look at and dream over. But they will be for me, not the future as the pink marbles will be. I guess I like the fact that for me the pink marbles will be a long term gamble. I like trying to figure things out and then proving my hypothisis. or having it disproved. Because I will then figure out why, that is my approach to marble collecting for the future. Pen
