The sort is back on. lots of boxes got piled in front of my marble section and I'm just now digging in and I just found even more Jabos ... that I don't even remember moving over. Wouldn't be surprised if I have a thousand more now to figure out what to do with. Gotta get a bigger box.

Don't know about the top middle. Tint on bottom right makes it look Asian. That plus the cold rolls mean put it in your "no value" pile. And yes, it's a cat eye. The rest could be Vitro cats. Start grouping the nicer condition Vitro hybrids together. If any are conspicuously damaged they go into the no-value pile, but start pulling out he nice condition ones. The bottom middle is interesting. Could be a different maker, but probably safe putting it in a generic Vitro hybrid lot. You could have some ebay success with small groups of those listed for $10, say. Top right is interesting. More views please. Bottom left is an earlish Vitro cat eye, with desirable colors. Could be worth a dollar, or more with the right audience. The earliest Vitro cat's eyes can be worth a dollar or more with nice colors even if they're just a single color. Most single color cat's eyes aren't worth anything. The early Vitros are an exception.

not sure about the top right. Definite yes on Row 1, #1 and #2, and on row 2, #1 and #3. Probably all Vitro. Probably yes on the bottom middle, but it's ... .different. If that's not a modern marble king, then it could end up worth a little something because it's so different and has eye appeal. The single color (or essentially single color) ones go into the commons pile. The bottom right one goes into a nicer Vitro hybrid cat's eyes grouping. Does the top left have a blue-tinted base or is that a blue ribbon giving us reflections inside? The cage style marbles are more common than the ones like the bottom right, but with as many colors as seem to come through on that one, I'd put it in a nice-ish Vitro grouping. Just not sure what to make of the top right. Am expecting it not to be valuable, but can't guess what it is. Maybe more views would help.

This boardwalk is through marsh land. Wisconsin is working to restore its wetlands.

One more note: Peewee cat eyes -- definitely 1/2" or less, not a smidge over, might bring in more than the basic 5/8" marbles.
-
Note, there are modern 4-color marble kings, which won't be worth as much as the vintage. But they're still worth more than the usual cat's eye.

Next example is your own, Jjay. The one on the left is an example of one which might pull in a few dollars. Maybe more. Don't know. But it's a good one. The one on the right is an example of the common configuration, which some people might pay a few cents apiece for but which can lower the value of marble lots if it's mixed in with vintage marbles. Left -- good pattern with with four white vanes alternating with the others: white, yellow, white, yellow, white, green, white, green Right -- common, not collectible pattern with the vane pairs together: white, white, yellow, yellow, green, green.

I tried for the oxbloods. I stretched as far as I could. Lost but made the winning bidder work for it. Edit: pistachios are now mine.

I'd call the blue an "Ace". That was Akro's opalescent base corkscrew offering. The color I most often see for an Ace is the black ribbon. I think the orange ribbon maybe second. I don't often see blue ribbon ones with the fire identified inside. So congrats on that one.

Here's that same marble with some two-color St. Marys cat's eyes -- also valuable though not as valuable as the 4-color.
-
Here is a valuable cat's eye -- 4-color Marble King St. Marys cat eye. I think I payed $25 for it. Last I checked I didn't see me being able to replace it with such a nice example for less. Mine is in the 5/8" range. A boulder version would be worth a lot more.

My husband's rolling toy -- about 10 inches tall -- it says 1961 (which makes it older than him -- maybe came from an older sister). It has clearies in its feet -- very worn clearies. I wetted one down a little for the picture.

Cat Eye still is looking like what I thought -- need you to confirm though from what you see in hand. But I'm gonna call it a keeper. (Or something to list separately if you're selling.) I think the most exciting marble in the bunch is still the white base handmade with the different colored ribbons.

Some German. Some Cat's Eyes. Germans: Row 1, #1 Row 2, #3 All of Row 3. Row 1, #1 looks special to me. Row 3, #2 may be valuable -- I think it's an Indian. But I'm not sure of values of Indians -- just know they're at least a little special. Row 2, #1 is a Vitro Cat's Eye. How many ribbons does it have? For Row 1, #3, my best guess is Mexican Cat's Eye. Row 1, #2 is a cat's eye -- does it have 4 white vanes? Are the vanes in this order -- green, white, green, white, yellow, white, yellow, white? If so, I think that's worth a little something. (And I think with that combo it would be Asian.) Row 2, #2 is Asian or Mexican ... but either way that's considered a common. Worth a few cents. When the color pairs are together -- e.g., green next to green, then white next to white, then yellow next to yellow -- that is common and not valuable. Gonna move this to the main forum so maybe more people will see it and might comment on the handmades.

I'll pass your praise along to Jill Marie.

p.s. If that fat banana is mint, you might be able to get a few dollars for it, if you wait for the right customer to show up. p.p.s. ... I can't make out the bottom right I'm wondering if it's a cage style cat's eye. Not sure. I meant to mention that above. But it's moot with the hitmarks.

Petlier Rainbos aren't particularly valuable. I think you'd be lucky to get $1 apiece.

Those metal-banded ones are interesting. Wonder what that was about. The top left one is an Akro Popeye and could have been valuable but in this condition, I don't think it is. The bottom middle is an interesting looking marble. Might be a Master with a fat version of a "banana". Or ??? Cool but I'm not sure it's particularly valuable. Because of condition or commonness or relative plainness (that bottom middle one being neat but sorta plain), I'm not seeing value here. But maybe someone will look at the handmade on the bottom right and see value in spite of the condition. Those metal bands remain intriguing.

It's mostly Akros (and some antique handmades) which are said to have eggyolk. And then only certain Akros. Other marbles could have what looks like the same yellow, but it's not described as eggyolk. Darla's Akro Eggyolk Oxblood:

Pretty colors in a transparent base -- winning combination.

I now have for real marble marbles. I'm ready to play. Two are definite "blood allies". No one can beat me today! (a little under 5/8")
