  1. This lot is mostly West Virginia swirls. I think I might see a Peltier slag toward the bottom. (2nd marble from the bottom, sort of in the middle of the "row") The largest marble looks like it could have oxblood but I'm not sure about that because I don't remember marbles that large having oxblood.
  2. Still not in the grid I was hoping to see. Clear rows would help make identification easier. So we can say things like "2nd row, third from the left is such-and-so". I hope I don't sound like a hard-ass. It's just we need a neat way to be able to convey to you which marbles we're talking about.

I recommend a new photo. That would be helpful and more beneficial going forward. Circling gets complicated fast. Downloading, editing, uploading. That's why I was saying to put them in a grid, with rows and columns, so they'd be easier to point out. If you do put 'em in one or more grids and repost, start a new thread for each separate group. You don't have to start a new thread for any requested close-ups. But for completely separate groups start a new thread. Thanks! We do want to be helpful. Just want to make it easier for all involved.
  4. Thanks in advance! (I'm looking for a certain Jabo oxblood I tucked away somewhere and when I find it, I want to have as many Akro pix as possible to compare it to. )
  5. That should be a poster. Or a jigsaw puzzle.
  6. An archive of Wildwood tournament photos: Press of Atlantic City
  7. Not really a marble so much --- a one-inch ball with LED lights inside -- but they call it a marble, so it counts, right? http://www.imarbles.com/blog/?p=135 http://www.mcssl.com/store/skullduggery/catalog/search?keyword=marble+racers

Looking again. The second photo does have some interesting marbles in it. Might be called an Akro Carnelian Oxblood near the top. (Not sure of the name, but it has a white base and orange and brick red striping. Some of the blue base with yellow striping marbles might deserve close-ups. On the right side of the 2nd photo is a larger than average Vitro which I find interesting. The large blue and red marble on the left of the 2nd photo is an Alley Agate. Would be extra value because of the size. I think maybe possibly I see a "brick" in the third photo but not sure about that. So, back to first thought, it's a nice vintage group. If you post more pics, the recommended number per photo is around four. However, with so many to go through, you might be able to speed things up a little with grids of, say, five marbles by five marbles. That way people can more easily point out what is of interest to them. E.g., "First row, 4th marble." Like that. Whether you go with four or 25 per group, post a separate thread for each group. That helps minimize confusion.

Hello, alkare. Welcome. The good news is that they appear to be most or all vintage. Right now I'm not seeing anything to pull out and say, "this one is so valuable it should be sold on its own". Hopefully others will look and see if anything jumps out at them.
  10. Oh my! So many beauties that I don't want to single any one out. The red single pontil leapt right out. And then the contemps are so very festive.
  11. Cool. We need more collections from your country to get into circulation!

  13. Hi Julie. Welcome. Those are neat items. The marbles look like Asian cat's eyes in this view. Could be as early as the 1950's. With single color vanes I'd estimate 50's or 60's. I wonder if they're supposed to look like kerosene lamps?
  14. Sorry, Bill, that one is too perty for this thread. Does the base light up?
