  1. Steph, your accidental backyard art (okay, I remember the photograph even if photobucket is blocking it actually): Just put some hoses or gutter like half pipes to the framework and you could get an 'accidental backyard marble run'. Bumblebee, you have a nice piece of nature you are living nearby. Really.
  2. Is it the first time you have a garden to cultivate?
  3. Hi, I learned here in this forum on photobucket when looking for a place to 'park' my pics on the web. Things worked for a couple of weeks and then refused. So I cursed on it, scraped my account there and started using imgur.com. Handling pics and navigating mine is not super-intuitive there but it works.
  4. So now I know what a fidget spinner is. A nice idea converting a marble track into a pinball like playground.
  5. Modern times - deers now also take a cab.
  6. Hi folks, YellowMarble, hope this will make your day - the clip I just made today: (It is my very first clip ever, so please be not too harsh with your criticism) Hoody
  7. Oh my gosh! 103 would give a nice summer this year. Western germany currently is something that resembles more to autumn than everything else. Maybe the mushrooms are ready to collect ... brrr.
  8. Hi, currently I have no video. A sunny day, some spare time and I'll do one.
  9. Hi out there, while I just fail getting my easter eggs rolling down a track, it creeped into my mind that I have still this ping pong ball run contraption to post. Since months I have no idea about a name so here it finally goes nameless as is: The two columns wind up the balls a spiral way. The balls then drop onto the downward track and at the bottom they get split by colour to each spiral lift. One motor drives the lifters synchronously. Two AA-cells could do the job for hours. No fancy stuff, no decorations just the necessary parts to get it work and stable. The lifters are inspired by Akiyuky's GBC devices. Here we have the track side: The pictures were taken unpowered, so the balls queue up before the splitter. When powered those waiting are distributed across the tracks and there is little to no queue at all. Enjoy your (easter) time Hoody
  10. I see, thanks for your explanations and for the introductions. A fine enhancement to my vocabulary .
  11. I am a little bit puzzled on how to read this table. Okay, the left column "miffed" I understand partly and I am wondering how "wing nut" or "crepes" (french: crêpes - something yummy) is meant. But the most astounding word in the column "I'm not having it" (what does this mean here?) is "Fahrvergnügen". I found some hints to a VW commercial. Does it originate from there?? "Bolshevik" - how old is the shown page roughly? 1960?
  12. If there's something weeeeerd and it don't look good - who you gonna call?
  13. PHAT! The music still is synthetic but who cares? THX for sharing
  14. Ever tried this variant? BTW: corndogs = Würstchen im Schlafrock Something where english speaking people need just one word to tell ...
  15. Hope CA will not get swept away. Read something about overloaded dams in the german news but the story disappeared.
  16. Really lovely winter impression Hipocritter posted. Today we have something around 45°F and the sunshine slowly turns into grey sky. No snow, just brown and greenish brown in the landscape.
  17. Nice word - and new to me. My regnancy is more experienced with the 'doing':
  18. Punxsutawney is a nice word for scrabble, isn't it? By the way: How is the prediction this year?
  19. Some of them seem to be valid. Funny enough "Slampadato" is not in the italian dictionary. The "Iktsuarpok" I understand to be similar to impatience? Zhaghzhagh = Zähneklappern hope this does not make you Kummerspeck.
  20. Is it true those are called "sugar books"? By the way: I am working on a new ball run for a couple of weeks. Since it is not using marbles but ping pong balls instead I am really unsure if I should post about in the "marble runs" sub forum. May I?

    Moving ....

Oh no. 2016 seems to have been no good year around the world. Let's hope 2017 will not get worse. At least you are still alive! Get well soon!
  22. Hi Joe, nice idea and really nice colorful marbles. Hope it will do more than just pay off for the company.
  23. Schadenfreude is an english word? It sounds so german. Okay, but I think there is no direct counterpart and to express you feel bad about having schadenfreude you might have ein schlechtes Gewissen. "Your spitefulness gnaws at your conscience" could be a translation. Or you are just sorry for being schadenfroh. However, its getting x-mas soon ... Season's Greetings
