  1. Oh, thank you. I am not looking for special kinds but just to know how such pontils might look like. Maybe some of the contemporary I have got are not machine made but hand made ...
  2. Please tell me: in jeeperman's last picture above, the lowest part on the right shows this ring. Is this a typical mark of a pontil?
  3. Well, this one comes in many different flavors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6_aEsFwQ9s This is my favorite flavor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2aMaMkDwTA
  4. Hopefully Soup does not claim against us for this headline ... But its new to me that real food gets photographed. Usually very fine looking artficial objects get shot. So why not pushing up things in the soup for a better look with some marbles.
  5. Why not? Sports rely on doping especially when we consider big international tournaments. Besides that, doping can alter optical properties of glass : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dopant (okay, I am kidding)

As *you* like it, of course. PS: Book is already ordered at Amazon - nice they sell books across the world. [edit] PPS: ... red fish blue fish! OMG! Just have a look at this logo in the upper left: http://www.fischertechnik.de/en/Home.aspx What a strange coincidence ... or am I just getting [/edit]
  7. As usual ... 2 chicken - a brown one and a gray one or A donky wearing brown trousers

Steph, maybe I know one or two things more than the usual non-american. But I am far away from really knowing your culture ...

Horton Hears a Who (Horton hört ein Hu) as well as How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Der Grinch) I know from the movies. Maybe I read Dr. Seuss' name in the end titles there. I think I will try to get the "fish" book - english version, of course.
  10. Feel free to use a translator. I tried to give some english descriptions aside the german ones - hope its understandable. But the translations are not very close sometimes. Now the highlight of this years events is getting closer and closer: our fischertechnik convention near Frankfurt am Main (Germany, where else?). All the issues I experienced in Hannover and Sigmaringen have been addressed and reworked. I am really nervous if all the readjustments and technical rework of the past weeks survive the transport and reassembly.

Why, does not prevent me from reading it but requires more clicks to get it visible - I need to go for the cape to say I am super-lazy. Dr. Seuss should tell me something but it currently does not ring any bell. I am sure I read this name somewhere sometime ...
  12. When marble plaing finishes the traces left will look like modern art. Great idea to build an indoor marble game terrain!

Okay, this one really twisted my brains but the solution is far beyond my level of knowledge. Thank you Steph. By the way: invisible ink does not work on the preview "Unread Content" ...
  14. Those language topics just remember me to the one Steph addressed to me earlier. You know: 1/5 2/5 1/5 1/5 (http://marbleconnection.com/topic/21250-humor-ar-ar/) It's long ago now and I need to confess - I really still have no idea what this means.
  15. Invisible ink is great! Steph's answer sounds reasonable, but I would like to say he is just one stone (Ein|Stein )
  16. I suppose the left ones are the Quandongs and on the right there are those Commies? I did not know either of them (neither did I ever see those cosmic sweets ) before.
  17. The airtrap is wonderful - wow
  18. Sorry for it is a comercial - but I like the music ...
  19. The next step is that they come to your hand and pick up the bread directly?
  20. P yra midal! To see it again And now we are looking for an "L" ?
