  1. It's a black on orange pumpkin. Nice!
  2. Lovely. I like the 'finger' and 'Cage-style' Vitro's but when they'd got the vane type so right you wonder why they didn't stick to these.

It does look very similar and could well be Peltier, and not all Peltier's have distinct feathering. My first impression was Peltier, but I can't rule out Akro either. Have a look at the Akro slags as well. Thanks - I see what you mean about the crispness - it's exceptionally well defined (and very gorgeous whatever it is). I think I see what you mean - there could be pontil evidence at that pole? I think see where you mean - about 11 o'clock?
  4. They mainly look good for bloodies to me. In the second photo the second from bottom upwards for three marbles definitely look like bloodies. They should have an opalescent translucent base. Some Vitro Whities have a ribbon that looks a bit bloodie like, but will be on opaque glass. There are other vitro patches that come on translucent glass. The bottom one looks a bit more like a Marble King Rainbow, but I'd need other shots. Maybe the top four... I'm not familiar enough with Akro patches to separate them unless they're an obvious cork.
  5. Not sure where this one came from - it was on the floor so could have fallen out of a few packages... I'm struggling with swirls as much as slags, if not more so but I think it's Alley? Any thoughts appreciated.

Looking again I see what you mean about the top one - in the bottom right shot the striations looked quite tightly packed, but not tight enough to be a confirmed Peltier. Out of interest what makes you think the bottom one is likely non-USA or pre-MFC rather than MFC? Have I missed anything that rules out MFC or is it more overall impression?
  7. I don't know what you had to buy to get these free but I'd have been tempted... I'm still resisting temptation to open the pack...
  8. You might have future marble collectors lifting floorboards to see what they can find
  9. They're tougher than they look. Think of how they survived shipping to stores. Good luck with the move.
  10. I think you might have got a steal, and the learning experience in separating these mixed lots is invaluable.
  11. I was wondering Seppenhutte... but I wouldn't be confident separating them from CAC
  12. Both slags, bottom one looks M Christensen.

I'm still very much a beginner so bear that in mind and wait confirmation I'd go with possibly Peltier slag on the top one due to the fine close striations. M Christensen slag on the bottom with that 9.
  14. Thanks - I thought that was tri-color and multi's were simply two or more colours on coloured based glass.
  15. Well spotted - I was focused on the patch on the left one. Shell - Is the ribbon on the middle one black? It looks black in the first pic on my monitor, but dark blue in the second.
  16. Possibly Pelt multi-coloured rainbo on the top 2?
  17. The yellow and black look like Marble King Bumble bees - patch and ribbon combo. I think the blue one is a Peltier Rainbo.

It's a wonderfully weird place. If you cross the pond again I recommend a visit. Largely built from reclaimed architectural features, the buildings employ all sorts of optical illusions - what looks a big grand building from a distance turns out to have small doors and windows close up. On a sunny day (admittedly a rarity in Wales) the beach is wonderful for a stroll (never saw Rover). Be seeing you!
  19. I think you're right on Heaton. I'm not sure the colourless clear area points me either way but agree on the transparent green area definitely pointing that way. I'm really struggling with swirls!
  20. Yes St Mary's Alleys. My first vintage marbles and look where they've led me. Dangerous things
