I have a galaxy that I posted a couple months ago. It has colored spots on the surface that almost looks like paint spattered on it. This one appears to have the colors buried under clear. I'll have to wait until next week when I get home.

Istmmrbls, after closer inspection with brighter lights, yes it's silvery aventurine and lots of it. PM me and I'll be happy to send it your way. -

Going thru some old marbles, this jumped out and slapped me. Any ideas?

Another that could be mistaken for a pontil. Under magnification there is something in that hole that looks like a crystallized snow flake. There is a cutline between the red and green. The black is loaded with aventurine.

That's very interesting, thanks! I just collect marbles and pretty much anything glass that's old. I have a habit of giving away things when someone really likes them.

Alan So what's hot in the last couple of months? Or does it change weekly Or from show to show? This conversation makes me wonder if subconsciously I'm stepping over the line from collecting into dealing. I give away some nice marbles but have never sold one. Anyway, what's hot now please?

Question about sulfides. I keep hearing and reading about how rare and collectable they are but it seams they can't give them away on ebay. What is it? To many fakes, condition, or just that collectors have moved in a different direction?

Dang Migbar, Now I have to farther my traditional glass making education. Haha, now back to cut lines and anything else that could be mistaken for pontils.

It took awhile to find where I read about the potato thing. American machine made marbles, page 9, Arnold Fiedler and seedy glass.
