Thanks Steph. Fitting name for the colours

Thank you. I am fascinated when marbles change appearance
-
If anyone can help out. I dont even know where to start. I like that deep red though.the last picture turned green but it is yellow.
-
Thanks . I like that splash of aventurine. I really do need to take better pictures

I was hoping it was captured moonlight. Added chemicals. Natural aluminum and flourides already present in the glass or those were the added stuff? . These marble manufacturers were scientists.
-
Ive been wondering about that picture. Why does it change colour with light?
-
Thanks That akro moonie is cool the way it changes colours. I read that happens but seeing it is great. Not that i can see there is no cutlines. Maybe its just a decoration marble.
-
I may not have dug deep enough to find a thread with marble pictures just for the pleasure of looking at them. Although just about every post has a nice picture.

Did that white turn yellowish with a backlight? I dont think mine is a moonie. Some sort of opaque. Light passes through it. Its a neat marble.

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated all the input. What should i be looking for at the seams for a Master Marble? I was looking at the straight seam and a bit of tail on the otherside.

I like the hunt. I do understand condition is king but myself as long as their not beaten to a pulp i just like finding ones i dont have. Its a nice way to get out on the weekend. Drive somewhere new possibly find a marble. Yeah ive heard many many times i just sold them yesterday. I have come to the conclusion its not a true statement but the dealer is trying to imply ... oh yeah i always have everything because im a top notch dealer

Right on. 1 more piece of knowledge in the memory banks

Thank you both. That picture is outstanding. Those whites really do pop out. Maybe a naive question but are whites and blacks considered colours on marbles? Re Heaton. I like the connection to Cairo. Bogard to Jabo. I have read it all before but now it seems to make more sense. And on joemarbles i seen a picture of the Heaton factory. Having this marble in my hand and there being a good chance it was made in that factory from the picture.it was quite a happy satisfying moment . It made a real marbleconnection.

Dang i was hoping i would have been closer to identifying then that. I am not fully sure i understand what you mean but i do trust your verdict . I need to figure out how to take better pics consistently

Could it be a christensen? I always find swirls difficult, never sure where they start or end. I like the pattern and colours. Thanks again
-
Thanks Steph. I think were right. Its a nice specimen though. The others ive seen the colours are kind of big and blobby and swirls less defined. Yep i noticed those roller marks too. Why does that happen?
-
My default is vacor. As ive see similar but this 1 is finer features and more complex swirling .92" also leads me to believe vacor . Thanks for your input.

As a semi newbie myself.3 years into it. Books can get the thinking process started . Then eventually become a hindrance as they only show the best of the best examples. I would say look at each marble closely and try and learn moderns.
