  1. Nice marble but not a Woody. Not sure if there’s a name for this one. But I’ll defer to the Peltier Pros here.
  2. Limited sample size obviously, so tentatively I would say Rainbo Woody ?
  3. First one I think is a transitional? CAC or Leighton maybe? Nice marble. Can’t commit to a make and need an experts opinion. Second one is a really neat marble looks like a Pelt but the seams look pincer to me might be European. The base glass is glycerin like sort of an oil on water look caught between yellow and chartreuse blue. Cool marble Last one looks like a pincer but the wild electric glass color has me thrown off a bit. Any help is appreciated here. thanks
  4. Vitro / Jabo not a wedding cake. Here’s a quote from the archives at Mibz and More detailing a wedding cake “The Vitro Wedding Cake is one marble that is rare. There are variations of a Wedding Cake but the true types are vhtf and the red ones are rare. Real Wedding Cakes have an off white base, with a colored patch on top and a bright white (icing like) border surrounding the colored patch. The rare ones will have a red patch. Now in my opinion, real Wedding Cakes have to have the off white base, not grey and are shooters meaning 3/4+. I believe they are one of the relatively few opaque based patches made while Vitro was in Vieena. A good way of testing to see if it's a Wedding Cake is to see if it glows. So check em out and good luck on your Wedding Cake hunt…” true wedding cakes are shooters 3/4” and up.
  5. It looks like an Asian pincer type to me
  6. Probably so I need to say that ten times fast to make it stick in my mind Turkey Head Turkey Head Turkey Head Turkey Leg
  7. I’ve had several like this and I’ve always considered them to be Heaton made. Your picture 2 shows what appears to be a nice Heaton “Ear” pattern.
  8. If I owned this Marble it would ride in my West Virginia Swirls Box. Maybe Alley Agate.
  9. Thanks everyone! Really? I’m a novice by all standards set here and I’ve heard of a Turkey Swirl. Here’s a quote from The Marble Alan Homepage. I’ve found the information here accurate and extremely useful. QUOTE “Usually the swirling on Christensen swirls is random, excepting flames and Layered Sand examples. Quite often, however, the swirls will form a loop known to collectors as a "turkey." These truly do resemble the head of a turkey, in that they swirl upward from an oblique angle, then loop back around in the opposite direction, and finally parallel the beginning of the swirl. Rarely, turkey swirls will even have an "eye" of a third color.” Now the reference here is to CAC marbles. But I’ve seen the same pattern in the swirl’s of other manufacturers. I’m just hesitant to call something a Turkey when there’s certain criteria to meet which I’m not experienced at seeing yet as a novice. That’s why I was asking if this one met the criteria?
  10. Nice 5-Color Swirl. The Colors Make Me Think It’s Champion Agate? Not 100% Though So Any Input Is Appreciated Marble Measures 0.62” Inches In Diameter. Is This A Turkey Swirl? Thanks For a your Time
  11. Ok thanks y’all it’s in the correct stash box then. Now that being said would this be a Rainbow Varicolor? Or just a nice 7 color MK? I wish the green and yellow were richer. But there’s Pink, Orange, Green, Red White, Brown and Black. Plus there’s Horse Hair Oxblood running across the marble in the center of the bottom ribbon. I tried again to capture this busyness in a pic. I would like to know what this Marble King marble is considered or called thanks.
  12. I found this amongst my Marble Kings but I don’t think it fits in. The glass is more “delicate” if you will. Then there’s the colors which this one has green brown black white red and Orange some of these are rather faint and hard to see in pictures. Then the cut lines aren’t very MK I circled one of them which I think is more of a Peltier cut line sorta S shaped and Marble King are straight or “arrow” shaped sorta. Any input here is appreciated I’d like to put this one where it belongs. Sure is a sweet one in hand.
  13. Hey Ric thanks for the reply I didn’t see any replies to this thread till now so I’m sorry for my delay in response. when you say it’s a “white” what exactly is that? I thought these were Akros and that’s where I’ve had them stashed is in my Akro box. But recently I had the lot of them outside and in the sunshine it was very obvious the difference in the glass
  14. Hello thanks for your time. I have these two marbles that present somewhat like Lazy Corks. But I’m unsure if these are Akro, or maybe a CAC marble, or possibly something all together different. Any input is appreciated.
  15. Thanks y’all, I’ll have to go get that Alley out of the Jabo box and put it with my Alley Agates. As for the last marble the Akro, I don’t see many like this one I’m guessing it’s a harder marble to find? Does this one have a name attached to it?
  16. So Ric, would you say that Vitro made larger numbers of big shooters (around 1” inch) in their early years? Then later when materials cost increased there was a trending towards a smaller sized shooter marble? Any idea in the timeline here? Thank you Roberto and Ric for sharing your knowledge and time with me on these marbles.
  17. Ok, for the first marble, the blue and yellow swirl shooter measuring 0.98” inches. I did a comparison. Let me know what y’all think here. Picture 1 (top picture) this is the marble included with a group of Alley Agate marbles. picture 2 shows the same marble with a group of Jabo. To me, I think Ric is correct on the marble being Jabo. It looks like it fits the marble group in picture 2 (bottom picture)better than the group of Alley Agates in picture 1
