  1. Absolutely, God Bless our Heroes! And I also want to extend my thoughts and prayers too those who lost loved ones at that Texas airshow today. I watched a few of the videos on YouTube of the collision between the B-17 Flying Fortress and the P-63 Kingcobra...just horrifying. RIP too those lost in this ttragedy 🙏
  2. Maybe someone can take a shot at the ID ðŸĪ”
  3. I've always thought of it as a screwed up something, not a swirl, but was never quite sure...I'll have to post multiple images soon...
  4. Now everyone gets the notion to dig...I would have used the help when I was hitting marbles while digging in Iowa ðŸĪŠ
  5. Lol..I did reach out today too a vendor I am familiar with who specializes in rocks, minerals, fossils, etc....I have spoken with him before about a year ago and expressed some interest in working with me on identification and possibly dealing with me at some point. Waiting to hear back...he operates in at least a dozen locations in the tri state area.
  6. Mighty fine Pelt there 👍
  7. Wow, Fantastic marble! Definitely top tier and one that will be commanding presence on the shelf it sits 👍
  8. Lol, I checked out Feebay last night and saw 2 petrified coconuts listed by the same person. This dude is trying to get over $1,000 for one of them! If only!
  9. I think I would be doing some research followed by some possible digging! 😊
  10. That's what I was kinda leaning towards but it's always good to get some opinions 👍
  11. Looks like a rather attractive Akro to me also...love the orange(?) and brown 👍
  12. Scores from yesterday...you know, I should actually start cleaning more than digging, but it's damn hard not to be out there! Starting tomorrow, we will struggle to stay above the freezing mark for a little while, so yesterday was probably the last day of digging for the year... More guessing is welcome! We have the obvious then we have the "what the heck is that"...
  13. Couple of really nice agates from Tuesday. When they are this big, I call them "Chunky Monkeys" 😊
  14. Awesome! Found the other half! Anyone want to throw out a guess about what it is? ðŸĪ”
  15. It's nice having both knobs for each set...I really like all the advertising from the 50's, 60's and 70's myself. Can't be alot of plastic out there that is intact like these pieces are. And too think it all survived collapsing buildings and mother nature!
  16. And Patty thought the bottle that you mentioned was possibly Bullwinkle? Seems she remembers something like that from her childhood....
  17. Definitely! It's been a blast! Next step is more cleaning and then more pics 😊
  18. Found some more, I'll post them later!
  19. Heading back out there shortly...rain predicted for Wednesday and Thursday so a nice, sunny day for digging for a bit. Still have plenty of pics too post from previous trips yet. I'll have to get busy with that later today 😊
  20. Someone at some point did alot of traveling and collected (and worked), alot of various rock, stone, minerals, etc. Nice examples of what I have found recently. The picture is me yesterday in the "honey hole" inside a collapsed shed. I was about a foot and a half down discovering all these goodies...petrified wood, agates, quartz, crystals, you name it!
  21. Well, it's actually a place not very far from Patty's parents farm in Northeastern Iowa. She used to go on walks years ago and knew of the property. After we got together, she caught the "treasure hunting" bug and remembered this property as being abandoned for many years. So with permission, we started visiting the site weeks ago. We go a couple times a week. As you can see from the pictures, most everything has collapsed, most recently the house itself (it was still standing around 2010, Patty was actually inside of it back then!) Lots of fun! It's amazing what we find out there. So many different time periods appear to be represented pertaining to what we are finding. Some things are just below the surface, other things a foot deep or more!
  22. Haven't posted here since the last week of October, so have to play a little bit of catchup after having been too the site a few times since then....comment as you will because it's going to be alot of pics 😊
