Thanks for the ID assistance on some of this stuff, my friends! Seems like I have just enough time to post and not enough to research lol...

In brief...the drinking glass was a nice find, wish I could have captured the gold leaf pattern that mixes with the white...the doorknob with both plates is awesome, appears to be aluminum and was on the rotting remains of the back door too the house...the leather reins, bridles, etc., were a nice find considering they were half buried....the V9 plate I think went to a stovetop....scythe blade #4.....more vintage spark plugs...what's left of a wagon wheel. I'll have to grab the wood remnants when I go back....a small tripod/easel?....an all metal, long handled scraper....some really cool horse gear....really nice 1920's compact, missing its contents but still nice. I think there was also silk on one side...fun!!! And of course more nice mineral deposits 😊

Some pretty cool specimens! As you can see, one piece was in the process of being polished. Another one also has what obviously appears as metallic properties. Couple of nice crystals and no idea on the reddish one. From what I have noted, these folks traveled so maybe southwestern in origin? Not aware of any stone like that in the midwest?

I know, right? Those diamond shaped Indentations got my brain working overtime....and now the magnetic properties...iron ore maybe? Or dare I say meteorite? I don't think that's too crazy considering the wide variety of rock that was piled/buried. It was all brought in and put there. Collected in my opinion...

We found some more cool "treasures" digging today, but the most intriguing thing is this stone. It's definitely something different. You can see the size of it next to my hand. Not too terribly big, right? But it weighs close to 15 pounds on the scale!!!! Here's some pics of all 4 sides and each end. Thoughts?

That's probably it, same marble, different runs. I kinda wondered with the colors being the same regarding the swirls. I'll stick them together. 👍 Thanks guys. I'll post some more soon! Gotta go dig on this last day in the 70's!

Got most of them figured out...these 3 groups I haven't found yet. The two groups of green base glass, they are different. The first group the base glass is darker green. Taken with a flash the groups look identical. Maybe they are the same? The color of the swirls is the same. The third picture is a black base with white swirls. A few have a little bit of a pinkish tinge with the white swirls. Thanks for any assist!

Sorry about the unrelated post here, but I figured I would let Jeremy know that Kermit is going to be on "Masked Singer" on Wednesday 😉

I was in a hard place also with my wife. She was diagnosed with COPD in 2010 and it slowly and steadily went downhill from there. I worked from 3:30pm until 2:00am and found myself assuming an ever growing responsibility with household duties, daily errands, etc; especially when the brain cancer diagnosis came in 2015. At that point, I became full time caregiver and full time factory worker. I had too keep my 2nd shift job as a supervisor, so getting off at 2am and not going to sleep until 4-5am became a normal routine. About 3 hours of sleep a day on average. I did go through an agency and acquired hired help for when I was at work. Did that until her passing in May of 2018. Guess my last 12 years was just God's way of "toughening me up" for what I am dealing with now? It's all good, because life finds a way. 😊

More news...Speech Therapy at Gundersen Hospital reached out to me Thursday too let me know that there will be some group meetings with fellow laryngectomy patients coming up in November and December. Dates aren't scheduled as of yet but I'm looking forward to it! It was also discussed with me about taking on the role of being a Peer Counselor. This would require that I work personally, one on one, with patients who are preparing for the surgery, have had the surgery (and are still in the critical care unit), or ones that close to going home. It's a challenge that I readily accepted. If I can help anyone that's going to go through or has gone through what I did and still am, I'm their man. It's one hell of a journey filled with fear, doubts, anger, sadness; one huge rollercoaster of emotions. Situations will vary with each individual. And having been a caregiver since the 90's, and now a patient, that experience will be tested for sure. A caregiver IS the most challenging occupation out there. Anyone who would scoff at that only has too put on the scrubs and be prepared to eat crow. On top of this, I'm potentially returning to my old job in the coming weeks...I meet with Human resources and management this coming Monday morning! I could end up being a busy boy! 👍😊

Well, I'm whooped. Just a small load today from more digging, I'll post them later. Just wanted to show off this huge agate I dug out of the ground alongside that building I mentioned. Man, I carried this thing at least 200 feet too the car! Talk about heavy! I probably shouldn't have but I was not leaving it behind. These pictures simply do not do this beautiful piece justice at all.

Nope, totally blank. It is porcelain though 👍

The "Score!" thread. Post your exciting finds here...
William replied to bumblebee's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
First score in a while...couple handfuls of older mibs and a big bottle of mixed Vacor (maybe some Jabo in there too)
