  1. Www.marbleauctions.com Block’s Marble Auctions
  2. Ron, I bought 8 marbles in Saturday’s Block Auction so probably have 1 or two of yours. CAC and Peltier and Ravenswood.
  3. Go to Marblealan home and select Marble King for a very good discussion about MK marbles. Near the very end is a discussion about modern Marble King marbles.
  4. I’m Bill, known as Carowill (my wife of 50 years is Carol) and joined in late December. I have been collecting machine-made marbles since the early 90’s but took a long hiatus the past fifteen years or so. I was a pediatrician for 40+ years in Corpus Christi Texas but retired last year to spend more time around children and grandchildren. We live at 7500 feet in the mountains of Colorado much of the year. I especially like CAC and Peltier and Ravenswood, but am developing a love for Alley and Heaton and some Vitro. I appreciate the selfless dedication of those like Ric, Wvrons, Cheese and others who so passionately contribute their knowledge to marble identification! We all learn, as a result. That’s my cat, Wally, who we rescued from a Walgreens as a kitten when he wandered in.
  5. NLR marbles preceded Rainbos and were made from the late 20’s through the late 30’s. They usually have 4-6 colored ribbons and 2 seams (Miller, it’s predecessor have 1 seam). The base is usually opaque and the ribbons are just on or below the surface. Rainbos date from the late 30’s and have less brilliant glass. They also have 2 seams with an opaque or transparent base. Ribbons usually are 1-2 near the center of the marble. Rainbo ribbons tend to go into the marble towards the core.
  6. Seems to match the ones in Roger Hardy’s The Complete Line of the Agate Company on page 72-73.
  7. Ron, you are a marble “treasure” with your compendium of knowledge! Thanks for being such a selfless resource!
  8. Must be a “warrior” to have gone through that much trauma!
  9. More pictures of the marble on the left with a darker background.
