  1. Thanks Akroorka, I did some looking. Somebody on that Facebook Marble ID forum said it was a cereal box marble. I don't have FB but people can look at that without an account. I saw one that looks a lot like mine there, equator and all. Some dummy suggested sticking a hot pin to see if it melts a hole in it. 🙄 I'm searching now to find cereal brands that had marble toy surprise inside.
  2. So I had never seen a marble quite like this one. I was excited so I dug it out of the jar and it felt just a tad light. Not terribly light but just not the weight of 5/8th glass. I thought I had a rare pink colored slag marble but alas. However, I think it may be a better plastic composition than the cheesy plastic game marbles we sometimes encounter. I found a rather light straight seam today taking pictures and have captured it here. It isn't standing out so much in hand as you can see in my picture. This is translucent and lights up with some bubbles and swirls. Got everything going for it except it isn't glass. It does not bounce like the plastic cheaper game marbles. It clunks. Has anyone else ever encountered these? Anyways, I kind of like it even if it has no money value. Thanks for reading all that and be well marble people.
  3. I am fairly sure these semi cloudy marbles are Jabo. These 4 were in an about 1 quart of 95% Jabo Classic marbles I bought last week. I find these quite interesting and even find them kind of purty. I do realize others might find them rather boring but I still would like some information if anyone has any knowledge of the era years or by what name or style these whachmacallits might be called. Hey, I like them. Thank you very much. Top with the flash, bottom with outside light from the window.
  4. Good diagnosis Alta. I totally agree.
  5. Looks like some kids favorite purple slag shooter. Been in many a battle. To rough for me to figger a maker.
  6. Bought at two locations in Amish stores today in central PA. I do like Jabo classics very much and the Vitro Black lines came with the 2 little baggies which held two Akro Corkscrews and a very nice Akro red slag shooter. There were also a few WVS swirls in the baggies. This was a great deal for the money too. Only 6 casualties in the mix and there is a really weird teardrop shaped Jabo too. Thanks for looking. Hope my pictures were OK.
  7. Oh my gosh what sad news. He was so kind to me and everyone else on here as well. I am completely shocked. I did notice he had not posted which I thought was unusual. I am sad, and so is everyone else. Prayers and sincere thoughts for all who are hurting from this loss.
  8. I will be there if all goes well. Been planning on it with great anticipation. I'd rather be there than the Super Bowl.
  9. Great job and nice to see all the marble people I admire.
  10. Eye popping. Thanks for the thread. My favorite was clearly 11 pipers piping.
  11. I wonder if anyone can ID the manufacturing company of this bigger 7/8th marble? Thanks you kindly.
  12. Just a bit of a bump here. Has anyone got a name for this Peltier other than a translucent Rainbo or is that all it is? Thanks
  13. Welcome to Marble Connection, You've made quite the entrance with that beautiful blue slag marble!
  14. My winning auction bags arrived today that appear in the post just prior to Alta's purty mibs above. They are now surrounded by a bunch of 1 inch and player size brown rainbows that are more modern Marble Kings in this large Riker case. I find the bags hold about 15 Bumblebees and 15 Cub Scouts and a few oddsters. They will be serving their time, imprisoned in the bags as long as I am warden. Guilty of being cool.
  15. I went from my laptop to my PC and now it looks very much Jabo-ish to me. I don't think it's a Vacor anymore. Sorry. Nice marble though for sure. The 3/4 inch size makes it even more likely.
  16. Looks to be a Vacor "Polar Bear" but having a bit of a bluish white swirl instead of white. Sometimes the Mega Marbles come out with variations from the norm.
  17. If that is an amber base, it is a "Mummy".
  18. Thanks you for contemplating the marble Al Oregon and posting. Yes we have bubbles but we can't look through the green. I took a bunch of backlit images, this is a collage of the best 4.
  19. Maybe it's a "7-Up" and maybe just another better Rainbo color combination. On opposite sides it has like opposing Red and White thin ribbons or stripes and some light blending of the same alongside. It is not transparent green, but light does pass through. It is 5/8th in diameter. Thank you!
  20. Here's a couple other images of the sorted trays. I just like using odd ice cube trays when sortring. There are a bunch of Vitro Conquerors and some Tri-lites and the some of the swirls are absolutely super cool. About a half dozen Peltier Rainbows. The images just don't capture them well at all. A good number of the Vitros light up under UV too. That's a bonus. I think there are some Opals and also there are Akro Moonies and maybe a few patches incl a Moss Agate I suspect.
  21. This approx 7/8 inch marble does not glow under UV. It is light blue, (which is showing up much darker in my picture collage at bottom) tan, white and brown with maybe a half transparent base with filiments swirling throughout. It also has some light playwear but nothing terrible. Just evidence it is probably not of recent manufacture. That's just my opinion. Maybe somebody will recognize this and enlighten us all. Even with the wear, it is a pretty shooter. Thank you for your thoughts on this.
  22. I spied this one against the inner jar surface in a purchase yesterday and hoped like hakes it would not be chipped or cracked. Turns out it's just fine. Not the most dramatic example but I think it qualifies as a "Bee Scout" Part Marble King Bumblebee and Part Cub Scout at 5/8th inch. Another interesting one was this somewhat larger, about 11/16 inch Bumblebee like marble but it may be missing the ribbon. That is unless that small half stripe is what it is supposed to be. The rest is all yellow. Kinda neat and very nice as well. The I got about 30 other Bumblebees in this jar and a few other Rainbows too.
  23. Had to travel a bit to the Dermatologist yesterday and knew I would check out two Antique Malls before I came home. It was the Bumblebees that got me. If you click on the images, they can enlarge. Got these two pint size jars. There were only 7 casualties. The usual clearies and game type. I am going to highlight some that were in here in other posts. I cleaned them and sorted last night. I was quite pleased but I didn't find any real rare mibs in there. Thanks for lookin'
