  1. Yes it seems so. Great shape too. I was lacking MM in my collection so I am happy. You're thinking of Krimpets. Criblets (something I think I made up) are little teeny tiny crawly things and the stuff they leave behind. You don't find them without a magnifying glass but when you do you wish you didn't.
  2. Could these possibly be comets or meteors with such a large base of opaque white and a window of what looks like your sunburst pattern? I do think again, I have some older Master Marbles. My score today is starting to look a bit like Noah's Ark with two of everything. Images are tweaked to show the interior details. Otherwise these would look pretty much black on white. I thinkl I remember Stephen Bahr or Ron mentioning crimp marks on these. See that odd color at the seam of the marble on the right?
  3. Earth colors but a lot going on over the surface of these two brothers. I think again, I have a pair of earlier Master Marbles. Nice shape.
  4. Patches can be boring but I find these to be a bit above your average. I think they are old even though they show no wear and tear. There are 5 marbles here. 2 pair are alike with orange and yellow patches. I can see thin flow lines in the translucent patches that I think are much cooler than your ordinary opaque on opaque base patch. Another two look like identical twins, with a red translucent base and yellow patch that kind of radiates out in lines into the red. Another single newcomer that I picked up today has an almost perfect round patch of this same red on a opaque white base. Looks like the first pair in color but the pattern looks a bit different?
  5. Now first off, these images are sharpened and brightened, instant fixed and what not. Lots of dust and criblets of mystery clinging to the surface of this new acquisition I brought home this morning. This is also UV reactive. This marble is in terrific condition but in hand quite a bit more subtle. Still very pretty. I'm leaning toward Master Marble Sunburst. I was thinking an Akro would have much straighter lines.
  6. Thanks all. For their age they have not had much or any game time. The condition is terrific. Title edited to reflect what we have here.
  7. I did backlight these earlier today and there was a lot going on. I'll give it a shot here. I am expecting that oxblood will not be translucent at all. While I was just at it, I noticed that these all were UV reactive.
  8. Thank you VaMarbles Do you see any oxblood stripes?
  9. I got three very similar marbles here. Must have been made on the same day many decades ago. Please excuse the original dust and crumbs. This is just how they looked as I took them out of a very old envelope. They are going to get a little cleaning before they join their new friends in my glass covered trays. Please tell me what we are? Thank you so much ! These images were tweaked a bit to show details. Contrast, sharpness and lighting etc. The Trio
  10. These showed up in a rather brittle envelope with a 1 1/2 cent Warren Harding stamp on it. I just looked that stamp up and it looks maybe from 1925. That means nothing but then again, I think these are very old marbles. So there weren't many and I paid the guy a fair amount. All but one were in very nice condition. That beautiful Akro Agate 2 color corkscrew has a chunk out of it. Made me a little sad as at first glance as it was my instant favorite of the lot. I am going to be listing some of these in the ID section. I see some sunbursts or sparklers in there. Maybe there's some oxblood on them. But it's a score.
  11. I'm seeing a very lightly brushed on patch of brown that looks like some Master Marble examples I have. It is very light but the way it looks similarly brushed.
  12. I wonder if those three in the above image are Peltier Ruby Jewel marbles? Found similar on this page https://www.peltiermarbles.info/rare about halfway down and then others at about 3/4 the way down.
  13. I found a few in this tray in this video at this time segment that look an awful lot like mine. Ron Shepherd talks about "Batch Glass" There are others that look like mine more in the center of that tray as well. Start watching this Ravenswood video of Stephen Bahrs at 14:10 and try with closed captioning on too. Here's a picture I took in the daylight on the windowsill without any tweaking except for resizing smaller. My black base marbles with the white and purple racing stripes do not have orange peel effect when held in hand in my opinion. I see what you see in my earlier images. It must be my photography and editor that causes that.
  14. xraver7086 Welcome to this great marble forum. Very nice display and cool marbles.
  15. Thanks Akroorka! I measured them with my new plastic hole thing you suggested I get. Professional Circle Guide Template LOL works fast and good.
  16. OK back after a bit of running around and a sit down with my photo editor. No blue in my reds. Anyway, I am glad we didn't get too much else in comments on this since I made mistakes in the colors. It isn't black on white at all, it is a brown on 1 and purple on the other 4 I have, three of those look a brownish purple if there is such a color. Here is my mistaken colors on the black base. In hand they sure did look white and brown but they are white and purple again. I have 3 of these. ( 2 views ) Those aren't chips, that is the reflection of my windows and a reflection of the marble next to it. Now the white base translucent orange ones I have six of I think. The top left in this one may just belong by itself or with the red (hopefully CAC) ones shown below these orange ones. These, I have more doubt, as I deal with them during the day. Still I would like to identify them all for my own learning purposes. These are my red (no blue in the red) marbles with the opaque stripes. These are the ones that I got in a score with at least 30 for sure colored base CAC swirls. I think counting the one misplace in the photo above and these shown below, I think I have 10 in all. The marbles in question in a box lid. THANK YOU all who read and can help out.
  17. I will follow up with the best images I can provide Ric and thank you for taking the time and thought to respond. Later today though. Gotta run at the moment.
  18. Thank you for that response CharlieT. I measured the orange/white base swirls today and I find them to be slightly smaller than the 5/8th diameter CAC red/white base marbles. I think that the orange can be ruled out of the CAC question. I think I remember Ron Shepard mentioning the whiteness of the base color in swirls in Stephen Bahrs videos. I'll run across that video again. I do not think Ron was talking about CAC swirls when he pointed out how white those swirls were in the vid. Yes, your avatar image does look a lot like that one I posted. Is yours 5/8th inches? and What company do you lean toward as for an maker ID that is your less than 100% guess?
  19. Looks like Irving to me on the second half. These are cool, look like tornados.
  20. I have some very pretty, well made marbles that are same size as my confirmed CAC early swirl marbles but colors are telling me they may not be CAC. The Black base marbles have very bright white well defined white and adjacent brown swirls, these came in the same batch of very old marbles. On the other hand, I have some very nice white base marbles with very dark brown (almost black) swirls. I also have some snow white base quality marbles that have opaque red swirls, I know these are also CAC but I also have very white base quality marbles that have transparent orange swirls. So my questions are CAC swirls? If they are not CAC could somebody please ID for me. I have many swirl marbles, a few dozen have been pulled and set aside because they have a great white base color and stood out in the crowd. I am trying to learn what cannot be done 100%, I know, but I would like to be able to say that this one is Alley or this one is Ravenswood with some knowledge behind it someday. I thought these posted might be real good ones. Well, regardless, they are real good ones to me anyway.
  21. I like all those swirls. I bet you had fun together. Thanks for posting and that is a beautiful marble Melissa! So clear.
  22. I see at least 3 Akro oxblood swirls and it looks like a couple handmades that might be French and might be Germans? I dunno? A few Akro corkscrews. Nice lot. Those four in a row are very pretty. I put a star next to them.
  23. Thanks, boy o boy, I could see how collecting these Vacors seriously could be compared to hitting the stores for the latest Hot Wheels. I just wanted a smattering. I guess you are supposed to keep em in the bag. Not sure I can do that. I hope the nets are just tied in a knot. I would keep the cards and nets.
