  3. If they have eyes they are Flinties. IMHO. Yes some were sold as game marbles and some do not have eyes. Peace,Galen
  4. my first thought would be most marbles were being sold to boys so the makers wouldn't expect pink to be a real big seller. Peace,Galen

  8. American Machine-Made Marbles by Six, Metzler, and Johnson is the best I have seen. Peace,Galen
  9. That quote from Antique Digest seems about as accurate as the early marble articles. It calls mica a metal and says metal flakes are added????Both very inaccurate statements. Someone didn't do their research. Peace,Galen
  10. Names really only seem to mean a lot on the Internet and Ebay. Never seen anyone at a show argueing what a marble is called. The best stand on what they look like not what silly name someone made up for them . Unless your a Pelt collecter(LOL) . Peace,Galen
  11. Vacor was only making cateyes(and very poor ones) in 1955 besides clearies industrials and solids. They were extremely rough marbles and nothing like the ones pictured. And I do not see in any way how those marbles pictured are machinemade. The Czech corks Are actually made like the bulletmolds. 2 halves put together. Peace,Galen
  12. They made beads continuously over the last thousand+ years. Why couldnt the bead makers have turned out some marbles 50 years ago. Marbles were extremely popular in the early 50s. Those really do look handmade. I wonder what the ends look like? Peace,Galen
  13. I think some of the earlier marble books used that info as a source(LOL) Peace,Galen
  14. Pure Fantasy. Peace,Galen
  15. I see said the blind man! Peace,Galen
  16. Why are we assuming there were peewees in Rosenthal boxes. I have seen many and they all have had 0-00 size marbles. Those boxes have the same layout and size as the one I pictured do they not. Or am I missing something? Peace,Galen
  17. I measured the inside(bottom section). the top is 7 3/8" across. The smallest marble in the box is a hair over 9/16" the largest is a hair under 11/16" most are a hair over 5/8" Peace,Galen
  18. Just a similar box, Look again at the name. Peace,Galen
  19. Most Rosenthalls have Master marbles in them. Here is a similar 7 inch box. 5/8'marbles Peace,Galen
  20. One conection may be that Sellers Peltier owned a large part of Marble King. Peace,Galen
  21. Refilled game box IMHO. I have seen them marked other colors and they were game marbles. Great box though!!! Peace,Galen
  22. The cardinel red corks and slags can be found in the same boxes. I would guess 1930-31 for the corkscrews. Peace,Galen
