  1. You have it correct. The tag is for WVMCC and donated by Dave McCullough. Those are getting up there in price now. Especially these with the 3/4 marbles around the base. The 3/4 marbles are usually missing.

    Alley?

Five St.Marys Alleys. The bottom right might be Jabo.

    3 weirdos

For me the first one is a Mushroom, the second one is Jabo and the third one is CAC.
  4. If the seller will not furnish more pictures, it is time to run away. That is a automatic red flag.
  5. Fenton Art Glass Company never ever made a marble. Fenton glass was used in making Jabo marbles almost from the start of the Jabo company. Along with almost every WV marble company making marbles from Fenton glass cullet. Jabo 5/8 inch classic marbles average about ten cents each. If you can get that ? I have had thousands of different ones at several shows for the last three years. I had them priced at ten for $1.00 . In three years I may have sold $5.00 worth. Jabo marbles prices vary greatly. Most of that depends on how well known they are. The runs done by special investor groups in 2008 until Jabo closed are the most popular. Some of those 3/4 inch marbles are ten or twenty five cents each and some can be $10.00 each or over $100.00 each. No different than Akro marbles, some are $1.00 each and some are hundreds of dollars each.
  6. Not Vacor. Probably not MK. Maybe Akro, Master ??? I agree no way to know for sure with these two pictures. Looks like maybe 3/4 of it is clear ? Cannot see any cut lines or the poles of the marble.

    Swirls

    I agree with Alox.
  8. I agree no Popeye near one inch.
  9. Correct a dug messed up error Akro Superman.
  10. OK I must not be senile just yet. I also think I saw eyelash cut marks in the third pic. So four maybe five traits or things that took me to Akro. The color combo, the base glows, the eyelash marks, older quality glass, almost cork twist. No certain order.
  11. You may think I am nuts. But I think it might be a messed up Akro cork that did not spin correct. I think there are corkscrews with this base and color combo.
  12. Ric are you giving my number out again ?
  13. Those were the days. The old boards Marble Mental, Marble Addicts, Nan.com and so many others. Back when every dug marble was trash. Collectors said they never had a single dug marble in their collections. How would they know ? Back when all the WV swirl marbles were junk. They could never ever be separated by companies. When So many Alley marbles were sold as CAC. When Alley children's dishes were sold as Akro. When all the helmet marbles were Akro. When if it glowed under black light it had to be old. When I could take my grandson then five years old digging marbles on a Sunday afternoon. He is almost 29 years old now. Now all the marble factory sites are No Trespassing. Oh yes Marblequeen Jill's dug dirty quarts of MK's. When good marbles were actually rare. The Vitro Mystery patch turned Elite and now many names. Akro had the only oxblood on machine made marbles. When a nice MFC brick was a treasure. When most all handmades cost more than the similar size machine mades. If you did not collect handmades or Akro, you did not have a collection. When you were going to get every color combination and size corkscrew made. When dealers eat shows priced every individual marble and had lights on the marbles. When the shows were Friday and Saturday only. When a 200 Akro tin was only seen once a year. When we played with marbles in the hall ways at the shows. Those were the days !
  14. Thanks Chad. I see there is a Gray Dragon now. I wonder when we will have a blue dragon, purple dragon or white dragon ? When I started with marbles a Peltier Dragon was a NLR green base and red ribbons. A flaming Dragon was a NLR green base with orange/red, maybe a little bit of yellow, ribbons. The one above must be a Flaming Gray Greenish like booger Dragon. Good one for Ebay- Super Rare One Of A Kind Spectacular Old Antique Hand Blown Marble From The Peltier Company. A Gray Greenish Booger Flaming Dragon On Fire, mint- excellent condition, shipping $26.00 plus handling $12.00.
  15. I enlarged the pictures and I do not see any aventurine. I see a older marble, it has a lot of wear and tiny hits and scratch marks. I do not see a Peltier at all. I do not see CAC at all.. I see a dark purple WV swirl with a roll mark. If Peltier or CAC it would probably be true black.
  16. Happens every week or every day.
  17. Those days are almost over forever. Most sites are empty, filled over deep, concrete over them, or a new building on the site. Very few possibilities are left for any future digs with any good amounts of marbles.
  18. Probably more likely a Vitro Opal.
  19. Not on Ebay. But your bid will have to be more than 1.5 million US dollars. That is the current bid. Refused so far. Marble Millionaires , I can think of six or eight fast and more out there than we might think.
