    CAC?

Not CAC for me. The white is all wrong for CAC. The surface is not smooth, which is almost never seen on CAC. Temperature maybe cold. Looks like maybe brown in the white or edges of the dark base along the white. Almost if not every WV swirl maker made these dark base and white swirls. Some are impossible to separate, a few can be attributed to certain companies. Because of the difficultly identifying these is a main reason they have very little value, plus high numbers of them. Most of these have base glass that are actually dark purple, some are brown, some are green, and a very few are actual black. A CAC like this would be true black with bright snow white swirl and smooth slick surface.
  2. That dark line is not known as horsehair. Horsehair does not have dark blobs in it. Horsehair started out as a small narrow line of oxblood. Then later the name stretch kicked in and any small narrow dark line was horsehair. But all of these were and are solid steady small narrow line of darker color. The marble above has a dark line but the dark color is bleeding from dark pieces or chunks of some contamination or unmelted chemical or colorant.
  3. A 3/4 inch swirl = high chance of Jabo or DAS. A 3/4 inch swirl with oxblood = 90% high chance of Jabo or DAS. A 3/4 inch swirl with heavy aventurine = higher 95% chance of Jabo or DAS. A 3/4 inch swirl with av and oxblood = 98% chance of Jabo or DAS. A 3/4 inch swirl with gold av or gold lutz = 99% or higher of Jabo or DAS.
  4. Yes, the last three are Davis to me. The yellow one will probably glow orange, not super bright but orange. About 90% of all those found at the Davis site were fractured.
  5. Bubbles are from improperly cooked glass, known as seedy glass.
  6. First one is Vitro caged cat eye The second one is foreign Imperial. Not a cat eye.
  7. Alley never ever produced a patch of any kind as standard production.
  8. The pistol cases foam can also be found in different size foam. Some of the foam will hold many more marbles. Plus the more spots or holes for marbles usually means the marble sits high in the hole which makes viewing easier. If you can find the yellow or gray foam with the smaller closer together holes ? You can change to this foam and the psitol case will hold even more marbles. Most of the pistol case have spots or holes big enough to hold a 7/8 inch marble.
  9. Jabo marbles. I have many years of them. I have had them for sale at three shows for $1.00 and have not sold a one.
  10. Vitro Parrot. Many companies made the V pattern. Akro made lots of V pattern. It was not intentional. It is caused by a short length glass stream from the furnace orifice to the shear. The Parrot was plant manager Blaine Lemon's favorite marble. Every time I saw and talked to him, he had Parrots in both front pants pockets. If he was wearing his usual bib overalls or dress slacks, he had his Parrots with him.
  11. The second one is a common Lemonade.
