  1. I have almost the exact same marble, but mine has 2 lutz bands edged by blue and 2 edged by green. Mine is also 5/8". Can you imagine finding a 2-1/2" one? That would be amazing!
  2. This is one of my absolute fave marbles, a large 1-3/8" beachball Indian lutz, it's not only very beautiful but also extremely rare!
  3. Yes, I can imagine it's hard to pick a favorite, you have soooo many amazing mibs!
  4. I'm from Europe, the Netherlands, but I only collect antique German handmade marbles.
  5. Hi Randy, now I have seen all your marbles, I was wondering, what is your personal favorite marble?
  6. Can you post some more pics of your leaf opaque? A really interesting type of single pontil handmade glass marbles. I used to own one several years ago. Mine was 1-5/32" in diameter. It's for sale on eBay now, and the seller gave me permission to use this pic. Here's a link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321650705905?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (here you can zoom in on the pic), a really fascinating pattern. Here's a pic:
  7. Your collection is truly amazing! And nice to see some marbles I used to own among them. I am sure they are very happy now in your collection
  8. Hi Randy, I see you also have a leaf opaque marble. Could you post more pics of this beauty? From different sides please. I'd love to see it better. These marbles are so rare, even rarer than Lightning strikes. How large is yours? I used to own one many years ago but I traded it for some mighty fine marbles, I just found out it is for sale on eBay now by the collector I traded it with, this one is 1-5/32" in size. Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321650705905?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  9. I used to own both of these Lightning strikes. I bought them many years ago from a German dealer for only 100 euro I traded them with 2 different collectors. Good to see them back together!
  10. I would love to see some more pics of your display case!
  11. Yes, you can also see it on the surface of the glass. Just compare it to an antique marble with an original surface and you will see the difderence.
  12. Yes, certainly an old marble that has been remelted and new pontil added. Still a very rare marble in that size!
  13. I found this fused cane swirl on an old Bob Block auction. Here's the description SWIRL, Divided core. Very rare end of cane double fused divided core swirl. This is actually two cane sections of the same marble fused together. Each is a three band divided core swirl. One each of pink and blue on white, pink and turquoise on "bumpy" yellow, pink and green on "bumpy" yellow. Outer layer is a cage of yellow and white strands. This is two separate cane ends that are fused next to each, so you actually have two sets of three bands which are each surrounded by the strands inside the marble. I have never seen this type of end of cane before. Extremely rare. Faceted pontil. Surface has one tiny melt spot at the top. Incredible. German, circa 1870-1920. 1-1/16". Mint (9.6). And a pic
  14. That's a dual tone single ribbon. Single ribbon swirls where made in a 'sandwiched' way, usually they added clear glass on both sides of the colored rods that lay flat next to each other. In this marble they put clear glass on one side and black glass on the other. I had one with clear on one side and blue on the other. Very rare marbles!
  15. Hi Bernie, I think that's an end of cane marble with the colored rods coming only half way of the marble.
  16. Hi Hansel, I've held the marble in my hands and it is certainly a fused cane marble. One cane is a white latt core with outer bands of white and red, the other cane a very colorful single ribbon with yellow and white outer bands.
  17. A fused cane marble is where they fused the complete canes of 2 or 3 different marbles together lengthwise or on top of each other. They probably fused the last pieces of the canes together. Some of these marbles are very busy. The one I have have has 2 divided cores complete with outer bands fused together with a solid core with outer bands.
  18. The best fused cane marbe I've see so far! I've only got one in my collection.
  19. Woooooooow! Amazing marble and so rare!
  20. Here's a huge peppermint single ribbon swirl from my collection, almost 2-5/8" in size! Dan Morphy told me it was by far the largest he had ever seen. It's not mint, but has lots of tiny chips and scratches. Here's a pic.
  21. I've held the marble under a blacklight and party's of the green base glow a bright yellowish green, a sign that this marble is old.
  22. Hi Hansel, thanks for the link. I have seen these marbles many times here in Holland, they are modern, mine looks a little similar, but is a different kind of marble and most likely old.
