marboman
This one has me a little confused. That blue makes me think Vitro, similar to my avatar but it looks like a Master.Never seen that blue in a Master before, anybody got an opinion? Steph
Last year I would have said Alley. But now it's in question whether Alley made patches. How close is the gold part of the glass to that in your avatar?
marboman
The translusent base is not buttery like my avatar. It is simalar to some other Master base glass but it's opalescent.Got these masters at the same time from a 50 cent bin. There were Vitro, master, pelt, CAC,alley and alot of newer marbles also.Something about it is saying Vitro to me but it might just be that blue.I would say the base glass is almost lemonade but not flourescent. Thanks for input
Steph
That type has been dug at the Sistersville Alley site. Question is how they got there? Were they cullet from somewhere else? Did Alley even have patch making machines? Last I heard, that was in doubt. From Sistersville, Ron's photo:
marboman
This one's not a dug marble, so at least some hit the streets ,gotta be a couple more out there in some marble bin, somwhere. For now it's with my Vitro's because of the blue color and the opalesence. Here are a couple picks of the red and green marble pictured earlier.Red transparent base with opaque green.I'm thinking CAC Transparent swirl. Ric
Nice Vitros. Some people call the ones with pink & blue Pastels or Easter Eggs. The opalescent one is a Tiger Eye. It's kind of interesting how people in different regions sometimes refer to marbles differently. I used to call these Parakeets (5/8", 4-5 colors with AV). But I've kinda given up on that name. Now I just call 'em pretty Vitros. lol.
marboman
Thanks again Ric,those are some nice marbles you've shown there,I have one with aventurine, can't find it.I'm very interested in Vitro right now because they are not hard to find and are among the most beautiful marbles I've seen. That last ones a tiger-eye,now looking at it I see what you mean,my tiger eye collection slowly growing. Thanks again:).......and three more,I'm guessing are all Alley or at least the big one .Size 27/32"smaller are 5/8"Those two are tranluscent teal-turquoise base with very white swirls. marboman
Yes, I think your right,I was basing that opinion on the color and flourescense of the marble but the tail is too short .I think an MFC would look more like this? The nine making several revolutions before trailing off to the cut line. This marble is a flourescer too. Thanks for your help
lstmmrbls
I would bet and give odds there were patches made at Alley and that is one. Besides cullet there are also some swirls that match.

kh1958
I quite like those pale yellow slags. Yours looks like several I bought from Bob Block years ago (as Akro), for whatever that is worth.
richsantaclaus
The flea markets around here must be wearing flea collars because they have nothing like your find! Nice get!
