Pendant Or Fob

Size is 13/16". Best I can tell, the marble is 11/16 or 23/32". It's an onionskin and slightly shrunken on one side. I have not taken it out, did not want to break the tines(if that's what they are called). No maker's mark. Of course, I don't know if it is original or not.

Neither. I think Steph is closer to the ball park as a grip point for a light.

The metal is non-precious and gold and sivler were used for FOBs and pendants. There is hardly any other metal used prior to 1950 for either. Silver was pennies and VERY commonly used for every day items.Steel, brass and copper were not Yours appears brass, again as Steph was thinking, attaches it to a lighting source

could also be an curtain blind grip. people used to make those out of lots of thinks, even crochet them. i have a couple with marbles covered by tatting as well. when they hung in the windows the light going thru them added decoration.
