Steph
I would call those "pigs in a blanket". Though pigs in blankets are more traditional with biscuits than with crescent rolls. (American biscuits, not English biscuits. ) Ah, I translated your name -- Sausages in a dressing gown .... Pretty close to what we say.for that particular treat.

DINDO
It was white bread. They called it a Belgium loaf. Tasty with a soft middle and a good crust....just finished it off added some raspberry jam.
Steph
My husband finally has started eating adult bread. (He buys most of the bread.) So now we're getting some interesting ones. Italian or cottage or bread with nuts. For years he only bought plain white bread -- like generic Wonder bread. I like this change.

Cheap white bread has its place. Tuna salad? Grilled cheese? PB&J? Granted these can all be good on artisan bread as well. One sandwich that does not do so well without cheap white bread, peanut butter and miracle whip.
Steph
You have a point ..... peanut butter and miracle whip? what? Well, I like a basic PB&J on white.
Vancecrash
I'm not a miracle whip fan, but I keep a jar in the fridge for those time I crave a pb&mw sandwich. Try it, it's really good! Longstory short, ran away from home (to the basement storeroom) because mom wouldn't give in on my restriction and give back my six million dollar man action figure. Brother found me crying behind the water heater. To console me he showed me the sandwich that always made him feel better when he was down. PB&MW. My first comfort food. Yum. I couldn't remember my delicious hamburger recipe. But then I remembered that I had posted about it in this thread, and posted about the various changes I made over time. It was the above ingredients, plus raisins and cilantro. All ingredients are waiting for me in the kitchen. Gonna be good eating tonight.
