machinemades
I don't know if this is as surprising to you as it was to me but I found this Marble King out in the wild and couldn't believe my eyes when I noticed that Marble King produced the exact same marble as the classic Peltier "Citrus" with the same color combo and translucent base filled with whispy white filaments. Am I seeing this correctly or is there something I missed. Marble King specialists are welcome to comment.
Steph
Enquiring minds want to know what size it is. 9/16 or 19/32 or 5/8? Thanks!
machinemades
It is about 5/8" Steph.
winnie
Are you sure it's Marble King?
Steph
I have my feelers out. Have heard of some dug ones similar to this one. Thought they might be smaller. Info possibly pending.
machinemades
Maybe not. I am told similar Matble Kings were found dug.
winnie
I asked it cause when I first saw your marble, foreign went through my head,so I looked at my patches but couldn't find a good match,so now I think it's American made, sorry for the confusion. machinemades
I totally agree with your point Winnie. When I first got the marble I was sure that it is Marble King because of the cutlines etc. Now that I am looking closely the ribbon colors could be Imperial. I think the verdict is still out there. winnie
I notice that you also doubt wheter it's foreign or MK,therefor this pic-. Cut-lines can be long on Imperials,as you can see. This one is a bit translucent, not as much as yours. I've a hart time with patches,so I really don't know what to think.
machinemades
I agree that all those ribbons are unusual for Marble King but it is also very different than any Imperial I have seen. Could it be an experimental MK I wonder?
Steph
Here's a dug MK with the one color. Does anyone have access to the vintage "Beach Balls" with the translucent base?
Steph
Here are some more dug translucents. The base on the right marble glows yellow. The left has a haze that glows. The first is without flash.
lstmmrbls
Sami, I had a group of similar marbles about 10 years ago. I thought they were foreign but was never sure.
machinemades
I am leaning the same way at this point Galen. It was too good to be true to find a very rare Marble King out in the wild like that anyway.
